Member moparmark emailed me some new shots of his newly acquired 69 Charger RT/SE.

This car is a rare bird indeed.  Coded for a power sunroof, V2 Hemi Orange paint, V21 Hood Performance Treatment (ya gotta put that back on there Mark!), power windows, brakes, AC, cruise, tach, AM 8-track  &  a 3.55 performance axle!

All the cool cars are in Canada :rotz:

472 R/T SE

Way cool car.  Dem Canucks out here got all the 4 gear cars stashed away up there.  It's a small victory when we liberate one of them and bring one back where they belong.  ;D

Is the '69 cruise control turn signal arm different than '70?  What about '68?  I looked in the Registry and couldn't find any cruise control pix.  ???

Does it even get warm enough in Canada to open a sunroof? :icon_smile_tongue:
Nice looking car.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Lastly, I have the original bill of sale for the car.I am the third owner. The car originally came from Dominion Dodge in Norfolk,Virginia. The car was a dealer demo car (probably why it is so loaded up with options) and the original owner traded in his 1966 Dodge Charger against it.

How many Chargers like this one do you think they built?

How many do I think are built like it? In my opinion none will be optioned exactly as yours. I've always heard though that there was 29 RT/SE's with the power sunroof in 69. Not sure if that number is accruate though, as I haven't seen nearly that many. To my knowledge I have seen 6 RT/SE's with power sunroofs. None of those were V2 orange like yours.

              Hey guys,

Thanks again for the comments.Originally I was looking for a 69 super bee for my wife when I stumbled upon this charger.I couldn't pass this car up when I had the chance.I think I will be holding onto this car for awhile.I always wanted a hemi orange 69 charger when I was a little kid.

My dream car is still a 1969 hemi charger but I don't have 150-160 thousand dollars lying around.

This sunroof charger needs a couple more little things to make it perfect, and that should be completed in a couple of months.I will be taking more pictures in a few days and hopefully I can learn how to post them on this site. Thanks again everybody.

For 1969 the engine callouts were not an option (V24) that was '70 only.

The actual stripes were Organasol black paint and must be painted on.    I already conferred with Dave at Performance Car Graphics about the feasibility of making a decal....no go....too many compound curves.

Here is the factory bulletin for the V21 option......

I also have a few pics of V21 cars in my registry gallery

I can't believe that no one answered the question of whether he should contact Galen or not.

Personally I'd skip asking for a certification or whatever it is that he offers, authentication I think. Its a legit car, it doesn't take a genius or a rocket scientist to tell you that. It doesn't take anyone special to decode a car either, or to check all the numbers on the car. To some people his opinion spells $$$$$ though. Me personally I'd pass, just my  :Twocents:

Yeah I was talking to a gentleman at an auction who had just purchased a Superbird. I was talking to him about the fender tag, broadcast sheet, and the other numbers on the car. We went over the whole car, front to back, and it was all numbers matching. 10 minutes later Galen comes over, goes over it all with him, tells him the same thing, gets handed $500. Amazing.

                Hi again guys,

I need to clear this up.No, my V2 sunroof R/T SE charger is not the one on the Maple Leaf Mopars site.I would never think of doing something like that. That would be like raping the car.My V2 sunroof R/T SE charger is totally legit.I e-mailed Chris who runs the 69 Charger registry the VIN #,fender tag and broadcast sheet and this car is 100% original and correct with all matching #'s.

As for my other F6 Green 1969 R/T it is a real R/T but not matching #'s.I know, I know, the previous owner that I bought it from put on 1970 door scoops on it.I will be pulling the door panels off to see if the scoops are two way taped on or if they are bolted on.If they are bolted on I think I am going to leave them on as I don't want to start welding up holes and trying the blend the paint on the doors to match the rest of the car.

To the member "Magnumcharger" do you live in Alberta? Let me know.I would be intersted in talking with you.I am a member of the Edmonton Mopar Club and I am on the executive board. We have a big 10th anniversary show coming up at Castrol Raceway on the August long weekend which is a three day event.I will have both of my cars there.

Also a message for Chris who runs the 69 registry: thanks for the V21 diagram.

All of you guys have been a great help to me.And NO!!!!, I HAVE NOT changed my user name.

                 Hey again,

I haven't forgotten about the pics.I am at work right now and will be posting them tomorrow.Don't worry there will be lots of them. Two other minor things that I fixed on the car already was that I installed the proper R/T emblem on the headlamp door as I installed a mint condition grille assembly on it and the other one had the base charger emblem on it.The other thing was the right side exterior mirror as this car is coded for both of them. The right side mirror was not there.

                   Mark K.
