Old Chysler in a Garage Found ......Pics!!!

My co-workers found this gem tucked away in a building that we were remodeling a few years back. 

I'm not sure of the exact year but the license plate dated back to '64..............has it been sleeping there for 40 years? Looks to be around a 1950 or so model.....not sure.

I understand that the car is not for sale, the owners are well off and could care less if it just sits there. At least it's indoors!

I did not see the car myself, but the guys said it was in pretty good shape. Lots of room in the back seat!!!

I would pull it out.  wash it for about 2 hours, wax it for another two hours, get it running and drive the wheels off it..  Low and slow baby!

It looks to be either a 1951 or 1952.  1951 through 1955 Chryslers carried the Firepower 331 cid Hemi's.  One of the give-aways is the winged-V insignia on the trunk.  How do I know - my next door neighbor had a couple of them when I was growing up.

That's a 1952 Chrysler Saratoga 8-passenger sedan.  Very rare as only 183 were built in 1951-1952.  The 1951 and 1952 were really a combined 18-month production run due to the Korean War and production totals were combined.  The 1952 models had redesigned tailights with the back-up lights incorporated into the tailight unit.  This car really should be saved!

It should be saved is right!  It's one thing that the owners like it and all but if they are so well off, why don't they spend a little on the car?  If they truly don't care and truly don't need money then do something really wacky like give it away to someone who really does care what happens to it but could never afford to buy one finished.
Just an uninformed opinion though, there could any number of reasons why they choose to keep it like that.

I agree, The damage mice could do to the electrical and interior are unthinkable.

I have a pic with a simliar car , but MADE IT 4 DOORS CONVERTABLE...

I hate the roof being cut, but THIS was a GREAT JOB. Owner did make the same with a 40s Buick.

was on a show last weekend I was in there with my Charger... pics on sunday since show ends this saturday and will take better detailed pics.

Owner had 4 cars there and he has another Buick that it was sedan and became it on a 2 doors convertable.

Learned a little more info today.

The former owner of the car died a long time ago ('mid 60's I'm guessing...last time the car was registered maybe) and his widow refuses to get rid of the car. Kind a strange memorial to her late husband.......hidden away....not being restored or enjoyed.

Thanks to all that posted on the car...........been wondering what exactly is was since they found it tucked away.

On a side note the garage that it's in is attached to local juke joint.
