Not sure on the legitimacy of this news but at the start of the Windtunnel on speedtv Dave despain has said it's confirmed Dale. Jr. will race for Joe Gibbs under the sponsor Visa. With confirmation coming from them in about a weeks time something like that.

70charger_boy

I thought his contract with Bud said that they wil sponsor him with or without DEI?

ChargerRT440

yeah I heard that but i dunno about why they went with visa

70charger_boy

This ought to be interesting.  Joe gibbs racing is a good team, but you have a superstar like Dale Jr teamed up with that cry baby Tony Stewart..This ought to be exciting :popcrn:

ChargerRT440

:hah: Tony's not a huge crybaby he's better then he was a couple years ago. Plus he's the only one who actually says whats what. I mean who else would talk bad about nascar willingly?

70charger_boy

I'll give Tony credit for being outspoken, but there is only room for 1 star on that team... The real question is where is Tony going to go?  Maybe Join Jeff Gordon?

I think Gibbs is definatley the best fit for jr.  Jr. and Stewart seem to be good friends and Jr. has flat said that Stewart is his favorite drafting partner in the plate races.  Then you got Denny Hamlin.  I'm pretty sure Jr. and Hamlin get along well being the Jr. opened the doors/got a ride for Hamiln in Nascar.

As for Bud, nobody knows what the contract says.  So any speculation about what Bud is going to do is just that, speculation.  I don't think there is really any credible info out there about the contract.
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

Exactly Right, Jr is good friends with Tony and with Hamlin. He would be a good fit to me at JGR.

Joe Gibbs won't run an alcohol sponsorship on his cars, so no Bud.

That is correct. JGR is a "Family Friendly" race team, and will not allow Budwieser on thier cars.

I have also heard Ginn Racing is still in the running, and would love to have Bud as a sponser.

I still think he's going to RCR. There is no way Bud will let him go...

I hope your right. I would rather see the guy at RCR over JGR.

And with all the talk of JGR talking with Toyota, Jr. would not like that. He is a Chevy guy.

lol I would assume that if jr. goes to JGR they'd stay with chevy. I think Jr. would have a bit of pull with that. besides Toyota's year is amounting to probably one of the most humiliating things I've ever seen so I don't see why they would want to continue with nascar.

J Gibbs Racing says they don't want a beer company as a sponsor. Gibbs family has always tried to be about family in all their business ventures. They are not the only ones in cup racing that feel that way, Petty don't carry the bud pole sticker on their cars so they can be the pole winner, just not receive the  money and cannot race in the bud shootout.

latest rumor is that Jr. is going to Hendrick to drive the #5 (or #25 and Mears moving to the #5). Either way, Kyle Busch might be on his way out... :o

I read that as well. I am suprised they would get rid of Kyle Busch, he is a great driver. People may not like him personally, but the kid can drive.

Penske is talking of adding a third team for next year, and they already have a sponser. Kyle and Kurt teammates?

I just read that too.

I am not sure why he would take a step down like that. DEI is not the team HMS is. Sure Truex has done well the last two races, but they are just not as competitive.

My guess is that being the arrogant little prick that he is, he just doesn't want to stay in a team where he's obscured by Gordon and Johnson - and now apparently Dale Jr. Another option would be JGR if they add a 4th car or dump Yeley at the end of the year - but once again, he'd be behind Stewart and Hamlin in the pecking order there. At DEI he'd probably be the top dog (even with Truex Jr. there). And maybe, just maybe, he'll drive the #45 Dodge  ::)

I heard that too today. They said it would be made official tomarrow. Another sad day in ASSCAR.  :icon_smile_dissapprove:

I can't stand anything Hendick or any of his drivers do. They are a jack asses, winers, and ass kissers to Rick Hendrick. All his drivers praise him like a god ::)  And now another one bites the dust :rotz:
