Anybody Ever Make Their Own "Organisol" Black Paint?

I was just wondering if anybody has ever formulated their own "recipe" to come up with something similar to the factory paint? Or if they have found something that is a close match?

It's really not that hard to duplicate, or to get something VERY close. I did this technique on my tail panel & dash frame:
I simply used black primer out of a spray gun. I used PPG's DP black epoxy primer, but I'm sure others would work. I sprayed 1 medium coat. I let this flash dry, & then "dry-sprayed" the next few coats on, until it reached the desired texture. Basically, hold the gun about 1-1/2 - 2 feet away, dusting the paint on. It'll almost dry before it hits the surface, giving you a rough texture. I then let this dry, & spray painted it semi-flat black.
Not sure how this would work on something large like a hood, but on a tail panel & dash frame it worked perfect. It looks dead-on like organisol paint without the huge price tag.

Rustoleum Textured Black 7220.  Just did my car about a month ago & am happy w/ the results.

Rustoleum is more in my budget range. I will give it a try on some test pieces and go from there.
