Where in the world can you find new/reproduction front inner fenders for a 69 charger? Also have a need for both full rocker panels too...

Can't get any new inner fenders as far as I know.  Have to get 'em used or patch up the old ones.

You can get outer rocker panel skins from the typical sources.  No "full" replacement rocker panel boxes.

Sherman & associates Co.  go to their site www.shermanparts.com  Part # 171-24L for left side and  171-24R for right side.  They also show a rocker panel skin but didn't get the part #

Thanks V88...

Have you ordered any parts from this supplier before? My only concern is that the picture for the left panel vs. the right panel is that the picture was simply reversed; I'm curious if the panel for the driver side would be the proper set-up to allow for the battery tray, etc. It's the first time anyone could refer me to a source supplier, even the distributor of used panels...THANKS!

If used is cool, I would look around for a 4 door B body being parted out locally.

Unless your dealing with a rust bucket or a wreck situation, the usual problem with the inner fenders is below and adjacent to the battery on the drivers side.  Battery acid eats up this area.  I didn't see the raised battery area on the drivers side picture on the Sherman panel.  Maybe I missed it.  I have looked at many inner fenders at junkyards and this area is always eaten up with battery acid.  Removing the inner fender panel is a major undertaking.  It's a structural piece and there are many, many spot welds to drill out.  What's needed is a repair panel for the battery area.  I don't know of anyone that has this particular piece but I bet whoever offers it would sell a lot of them.

Question----------battery acid has caused a lot of problems on my charger's driver inner fender panel.  I need to fix this as part of the restoration.  How have the rest of you dealt with this problem?

It would be worth a call to Sherman to see what the deal is with the pics.  I would have to believe that the two pics are of the same part and they just revearsed to pic to show left and right.  I cant believe that they would offer a reproduction inner fender without the ledge for the battery mount, it would be completely useless as there would be nowhere to mount the battery!  No, I haven't ordered anything from Sherman, but the majority of the repro parts available for these cars are made by only 2 or 3 different manufactures.  The repro parts that I have gotten for my car have been OK at best in terms of fit quality.  Just about any repro part you get from any of the dealers will need work or slight modification to fit into a car.  I do seriously agree with chatt69 about the inner fender,  if it is just a couple of spots that need to be replaced maybe you could just fabricate those individual areas and weld them in.  The inner fenders are a major structural piece for the front framework of these cars and removing them would require some sort of temporary bracing to be put in b4 you removed the old inner fender.  This is to make sure that the front end geometry of the car stays true.  The engine would also definately have to be out of the car.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the info. The inner fenders on both sides are pretty bad, especially in the areas where the inner fender bolt through-holes line up with the actual fender. I just tried for the first time to start mig welding and it seems to be going OK, but fabricating parts is another story. If it was just the battery tray area, I'd give it a shot, but I'd rather just try to put in new/replacement ones.

Also, if anyone is interested, I found another site by accident just today- www.jimsautoparts.com, and it seems that the business is actually tooling new reproduction fenders. I haven't had time to call either place yet, but I'll let you know if/when I order the fenders and how they turn out... $219.00 each..ouch!
