When I read posts about guys who find Chargers they all sound a bit like articles from "Penthouse Forum" to me- - (you know, the ones that start out with "I never thought this would ever happen to me")  well ...this is kind of the same thing, with the only exception - - I don't end up getting lucky with the hot "desperate housewife" type  :icon_smile_tongue: :icon_smile_tongue: :icon_smile_tongue: - DARN!

Anyway, here's the deal about the Charger I found. I don't have all  of the details yet because the owner of the house is being evicted.

Its a 1973 Charger SE - 400 Magnum,  thats been parked in a garage for a long time. Its so dusty that it was hard to get a full detailed work up on it. But here's what I saw (I would've liked to get some pictures of it but didn't have a camera).

Color is A5 - Dark Silver Metallic, with black top (that looks mint and original), white bucket seats witth buddy seat (looks very nice), perfect black dash pad, perfect headliner, road wheels, slotted exhaust tips, air conditioning, factory cruise, power windows, rear defog, am/fm stereo with rear fader, original dual snorkel orange air cleaner.  It has all original looking paint, with no repairs, or bondo....but some minor rust. Not bad.

The trunk floor extensions are perfect, and so is trunk floor.   It also has rear sway bar.

The trim looks good, just needs a good cleaning and polishing.  Its a very honest looking project car.

Anybody interested?  If so, I can stop by later and get pictures. I would just hate to see it get sold to the local neighborhood scum for pennies on the dollar.   :'( :'( :'(

This leaves me puzzled.... you don't think the guy will sell to you cheap?  If anybody would be interested in it you should be.  You've done amazing things with rough cars... :icon_smile_big:

Hey Bob - that car just aint my bag, baby!  plus.....I don't need another Charger in my life, especially a 3rd generation.... You know how that ended the first time - D-I-V-O-R-C-E!  :flame:  If it was a 340 Duster or 67 Coronet in that condition, it might be on the trailer right now!!!

If I could get it cheap - I 'll just end up flipping it.  I would much rather put someone in touch with the seller, and hopefully get a little commision for a trip to the nudie bar - you know, sumthin' nice - !

Wish I had the 6k, it'd be worth coming to Detroit for it. It looks like a good cleaning and it'd look sharp.

Any license plates or inspection stickers that might suggest how long she's been sitting?  How many miles on the clock?  I'm not a big fan of 3rd Gens, but hey, she's got air, cruise and only 2 doors!   :icon_smile_big:

The owner of this car is NOT the tennant who is getting evicted.  The "evictee" is his buddy, and Chris, the owner was just storing the car in his garage.  The car is still there as of today.  It has been at this location for at least one year. Prior to that it was stored at his mother-in-laws house he said. Also, he bought the car in the early 1990's. It was an Arizona car originally, then Colorado, then Michigan in the early 90's. It has been sitting idle for at least 10 years.

Nice car although the $6k seems a bit to high.

exactly what I was thinking.  $3000 tops due to the condition it is in.

Yeah, and in 5 years you'll be kicking yourself for letting it get away at that price  :D

not to rain on anyone's parade..on the cars going up in value every 5 years... BUT i don't think that one will be "the one that got away" in 5 years. how many 73 SE's did they make again? A MILLION??? more than any other year charger if i'm not mistaken. i think even with these cars drying up you can drive around the corner and find another 73 SE cheaper

Not contesting that at all Trav.  In fact, I totally agree.  But I couldn't help but think back to my own Charger when I bought it.  I paid full NADA price and kinda worried about it at the time.  But my particular Charger had a history special to me only so it was worth it.  Now I look back on what I paid 10 years ago and think I stole it compaired to what its worth now.  :yesnod:
