Those are all very cool to see!!
:iagree:
I also agree with the dirt floor comment. There's a lot of moisture right there, especially in the spring/fall months.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

TUFCAT

I was thinking about that dirt floor - - if he sold one, two, or three of the "not so prized" cars in that collection - - he could certainly buy a lot of concrete to better help perserve his other cars!

Man, I wouldn't mind helping out with his concrete floor project fund!  :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

Yep, I'm paying the price right now for a few years of storage on dirt.  It may not ruin the body panels right away, but it'll wreak havoc with the undercarriage and body pan in short order.

Back N Black

I don't think the dirt floor is a issue, it usually cool and dry. He's being pulling these cars out of the southern states for 25 + years and storing them in that environment. I have looked under a couple that i was intrested in and they are solid for sitting in there for years. If it was sitting in grass i can see it causing big problems.

hemigeno

They may be solid, but it WILL eventually pit the metal unless it's an undercoat car.  I can show you pictures of what just a few years' exposure will do if ya want  ;)

Back N Black

prices?

The prices start around 10k canadian (Chally) up to 45k (General 01). The vehicle are pretty much complete with drive train and interior and trim.

:iagree:

Even with undercoating it still causes the frames to rot from the inside out.

HeavyFuel

Not to nitpick, but why did the guy that restored the GL leave the vinyl top trim on the sail panel? That looks dopey.

There were alot of cars like that on the show.  If I built one I would leave the trim as well.  It looks more correct to me for a General Lee, I like it.

JimShine

99% of the cars on the show retained that trim. They always did away with the sail panel logo though.
