Every one of those stars represents peson who has died in Iraq in the service of this country...3441.

This weekend, as you have your barbecues and parties, raise a glass to those who never will again. Don't forget the reason for this holiday.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

My thanks to ANYONE who has served in the armed forces, You are MUCH appreciated.

Always remember,

Freedom is NOT owned, it is Leased, Payments must be made and sometimes those payments come dear.

THANK YOU to all VETERANS and CURRENT Service personnel.

That's approximately the same number of threads that have been locked due to people trying to make a political statement as well (I'll have to start calling you TK jr.).  :nono:

However, I'll choose to remember *ALL* who have died in our nation's service to provide me with the freedoms I enjoy. Yep, that's selfish but I don't want to speak for anyone else. I'll choose to be thankful for all who have served and who still serve as well.

and rememder it's not a holiday for people in retail, I will be working 8-4 (usually 7) DON'T go out shoppping so the greedy retailers won't make more money and then (maybe) we can celebrate and remember the holiday as it should be.  I will miss the parade, the BBQ, and everything else, and arrive just in time to clean up :icon_smile_angry:

Sorry Troy, I was purposely trying to keep my post completely free of politics.  Today is not the day for that.  I would hope that others can restrain themselves as well.  If you feel that you need to lock or delete this thread, please do so.

Your welcome..... and Thanks to all who are still doing the do to keep this great country....GREAT!!!

I drove both my 55 and my 69 in the Wayne, Maine parade today.  First time driving and not marching in uniform.  It felt strange but had a great time and the ceremony afterwards was top notch!!!!

Very small town but big turnout and patriotic support.  Not even my town but did it for my buddy on the fire squad.  What a blast.  I was giving stuffed animals and candy out to everyone.

Taps was awesome and everything in the town was silent when it played. :patriot:

I dig the respect! What a great day!!!

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?
