I just put my 742 clutch type carrier back in. I used Mobil 1 75w90 and limited slip addative.

The suregrip seams to grip tighter now. Tires chirp on tight turns.

When the suregrip wears out doesn't it just act like an open differential?

badass

I think thats what happend to mine, everything seems heavyduty from the factory except no shure grip?

One thing you can do to loosen up the clutches and reduce the ratcheting action : Take the car out to an empty parking lot and execute some "figure 8's"...this really helps loosen things up.  :yesnod:

Yep, that's exactly what happens.

If you have nice rear quarter panels on your car be sure anything in your trunk is secured before you do those "figure 8's".   :yesnod:

Made a hard turn one time. Had one of those small portable floor jacks in the trunk that wasn't tied down.. :icon_smile_blackeye:

Went  out and made abunch of tight turns in an empty lot. Seams better. I guess the suregrip dried out sitting on the bench for a month.

Sometimes a clutch will get grabby as they get worn. Thought that might be the case here.

I think my axle has sat for a year or 2 unused, no oil in it, I put the gear oil and aditive in it a while ago and its just sittingfull, will mine be really tight when I drive it? or will the oild settle in there just msitting there?

I took  my 3.55 with a clutch type sure grip out to trouble shoot a vibration. (not the problem)

I put a 3.23 cone type in for about a month.

After I put the 3.55 back in it seamed grabby. I thought that might be worn plates grabbing.this time

Its better after driving in circles. (story of my life)
