Without sounding too much like a "snivler", I want to say thanks to the guys on this forum - and their quick, informative replies - who helped me with my sterering column problem today.

I haven't completely fixed it all yet, but on your advice I have successfully lengthened the inner steering shaft in my column, and am quietly confident it will now all go back together as it should.

I have to use the car for a wedding this week, and have no-one out here that i can really turn to for advice on short notice. This forum is my best avenue for getting help and advice.

So "Thank you very much". You guys who replied to my post know who you are - really appreciated. :icon_smile_big:

Be sure not to steal the bride's attention with your car! Might make the groom jealous!  :D

And don't go getting all hopped up on Aussie beer at the reception and put that thing into a tree.

Fortunately (or unfortunately), I'm one of those rare breed that doesn't drink.

I am stunned at how easy it was to fix that column. The coupling fits together easily now. I must say it was probably in that shortened state for a long time. It's just that my taking it out of the car probably made it a little worse.

All fixed now - thanks. again. :icon_smile_big:

Incidentally.....we're just coming up to winter.....the days are still full of sunshine and warm weather....nights are a little cold though. The Bee really enjoyed it's drive this morning. :icon_smile_wink:
