Guys, I need your help. My 71 Charger is just about ready for paint. I need the measurements of the center of the pentastar from the wheelwell and the bodyline. The fender doesn't have the hole in it so it needs to be drilled. I know it goes just below the bodyline on the right side fender. Thanks!

weren't they glued instead with pins ?... as far I know with vinyl top emblems exception all the rest of emblems are glued with double side tape. Vinyl top area emblems are with fasteners and pin

My 71   is 6 3/4 inch from front gap on door to left edge of star   and 2 1/8th inchs from the that bottom body line to the bottom of the star  on the passenger side.

I have found also 71s are with double sided tape instead pins :P. Not sure about pentastar, but sure about R/T, Charger, Dodge on Hood and trunk lids emblems. Only exception I have foud¡nd are vinyl tops since tape doesn't stick good on vinyl.

Couple of NOS R/Ts fender emblem I sold some time ago were double side tape.

Is just a guess/opinion anyway

Yes Nacho, the other emblems are double sided tape. I need the location of only the pentastar, I have all the other locations. Thanks for your help!

Todd, thanks for those measurements. I need to drill the holes before final blocking. Cheers!

My 71 had the 2 little holes for the pins. I think I ended up using a little 3m adhesive with it to make sure it stayed in there.  Hope those measurments can at least get you in the ballpark.

My Charger Logo/emblem above was stuck on with the adhesive along with the others. My dealership logo tag on the back was a real nice cast metal piece that was machine screwed into the trunk. I didnt put it back on as I didnt want to drill holes. I kept it though and may cut the heads off the screws to fit back in to look right and then adhesive it to the trunk. Not too many old school dealership logo's around anymore. Todays stuff is stick on vinyl.

My car had also the dearship emblem with pins also on trunk lid... removed and filled the holes but still have the emblem on a box, is broken but complete.

Ouch!!!, it does hurst open a hole where it wasn't... but is weird your 71 doesn't have already the hole to the pentastar pin if all Mopars came with that pentastar on fender ???

It was an NOS (new old stock) fender when I did the car back in the early 80s. A lot of times the NOS stuff doesn't have holes in them for emblems and such.
