I put a wanted add for headrests for my 68 charger on here a few months ago and goy a reply from a guy named mike on here, anyway he said he had a pair for sale that needed work for $50 plus shipping.
anyway as i live in wales, u.k. i went and got pounds changed into dollars and sent the cash recorded delivery whitch he got, we have written over 20 emails to each other and even exchanged pics of cars, but he refused to give his forum name to me, anyway he reconed that the parcel was left somewhere at my property, but that never happens with an overseas delivery-they must be singed for, for security reasons, then he said they lost the parcell and would send the cash back over four weeks ago, any sign of the cash- no and he`s not replying to my emails now.
this is the second time i have been burned from people on this forum, last year i sent $200 recorded delivery whitch some other guy confirmed he got, for a pair of mint 68 charger taillights. did i get the lights or money, no. and the guy stopped answering my emails and personal messages too.
i have also been waiting for a fan since last november whitch is supposed to be on its way, we will see - watch this space

these people realy p*#s me off, we are all supposed to help each other out not rip each other off. :flame:

That does suck. . If possable, I would use Paypal to pay for items. That way you can get your money back if it happens again.

I agree
You should use a payment method that has some kind of insurance.
It's too bad there are a$$holes that rip people off like that.
Try to get more info about the seller before you send payment.
I have purchased several items from this site with no problems.
Good luck

Paypal is the best method of payment. You can have the payment reversed if nothing shows, but you only have 4 weeks to do it then its too late. I bought some stuff from a guy who is a member here and needed it sent to New Zealand. Took 5 months to get everything and that was after I put a post on here about the guy. Four weeks is not really long enough for international shipping but its the best option.

Sorry about that.  Not all the "Mikes" around here are shady.   :P

Hope the experience doesn't sour you on hanging around this place.

its easy to cast judgment when only one side of the truth is provided.  There are three truths, his truth, my truth, and THE truth.  so at least wait until you get the whole picture before you start generalizing individuals as A$$holes, see my statement below.

So tell me again... why are these threads such a horrible idea?

sean68charger: send me the email addresses and I'll dig around.

Troy
Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

RD

no need Troy, he is talking about me with the "fan" comment.  That is fine. I can understand, but do not go sending me a PM stating that everything is cool and I will be waiting for it to arrive, then place this thread in here to incite a shark frenzy.

what he has not disclosed is that it took him 5 weeks to pay me; I sent another fan already but happened to be the wrong one (though I offered to send pictures, he denied the need); I found one with a clutch but it had some damage, so I went and purchased one from a swap meet for more than what he paid me for the initial one and shipped this fan to him on my dime.

So he will have two fans (I sent the other on May 9, 2007 via USPS) in which he has only paid for one and shipping for one. I have not asked for the original fan back because I thought what the hell, its across the pond, I sent the wrong one, let him find a use for it or sell it.

I can understand his angst, but damn, to pm me the above and then to place this thread up, well...what do you do?  My total investment is more than his at this point, yet I am the A$$hole.  Oh well, I am.  Everyone is, its just who you are an A$$hole to I guess.

Sean, when you get your fan, I know you will be pleased, it is very nice.  Next time though, if you got some beef, at least pm me first ok?

no harm no foul, I do not hate you or dislike you, I can understand your frustration,  :pity: I just wish you did not feel like you had to come to the public forum to get your point across over something that is in shipment, when you even stated how difficult it is to find people to ship stuff to you overseas.

Sorry to hear this. Sometimes I think they send Items overseas on a Turtles Back. I've had to wait 3 months for things to get delivered overseas. This can take lots of time to make a Transaction, So you may be premature in your Judgement or maybe not. If it has been over 3 months I'd definatly be worried. LEON.

twilt

The only way I will ship overseas anymore is via USPS Global Express. Usually 3-5 day delivery, $100 free insurance, and a tracking number that can serve as proof of shipping if necessary.

Sorry to hear of your misfortune. There are shady characters everywhere, especially in this hobby when there is a desperation for parts and money to be made.Greed will infect the best people like a virus.I never do any overseas deals because situations like these seem to arise.

Sorry to hear about your deals gone bad though.

my rant wasn`t directed to you, read your pm, it was directed at the other guys who never even sent me out the parts let alone the wrong ones
you have just told everyone yor side.
it took five weeks for you to get the cash for the fan last october. i appologised for that
its now nearly june and i still havent got the right fan.
i told you i needed a clutch type fan whitch you said you had- i trusted i didn`t need to see pics as you seemed to know what you were on about, you sent me the wrong one whitch i offered to send back at my expense as soon as i had it whitch was in feburary this year so- from october to feburary - wrong fan, now nearly june - no fan
i never called you an asshole, its just adding insult to the injurys i`ve already had thats all

I'm not the Mike he is talking about either. Matter of fact i'd rather give stuff away then sell it. There are some people that register on the site just to sell things and then they vanish.  I've never had an issue buying from anyone on this site.  But most of them have been around and have a healthy post count.
Sorry for your woes.   Like Troy said give him this Mike guys email and the other guy and let him investigate it.
