Does anyone know where to get a volt gauge that will fit directly in place of the amp gauge on a 69? I did the mad electric amp bypass & would like to install a volt gauge. Thanks!

Gojo64---------If you have success at getting a gauge could you let us know more about it.  I am planning on doing exactly the same thing but have not chased down a gauge yet.  Thanks a bunch.

JC whitney makes one that is very small, I am currently working on taking one apart and putting it where my amp gauge was and using the original face of the amp gauge.  I hope to have a local shop make me a little sticker to put on the face that will read volts in the same font as original.

someone posted a pic of thier cluster at one of the places that does them. it was a progress pic and you could see that sort of what they did.  looked the innards of a gauge put where the amp gauge used to be.

Check out Stewart-Warner.  They make a line of 1 1/2 inch gauges which should fit in the stock bezel opening.

nice gauge, but 50 bucks!!  I am using the jc whitney because it was 19 bucks with shipping, I already trashed one on the "learning curve" so I don't feel so bad

I'm thinking that this is the issue with the wife's Valiant. Out of curiousity, what kind of issues were you guys seeing with the bad amp gauge and how do i bypass it to check it?

remove the wires then connect them both to the same post.

Better yet, trace them back to the bulkhead connector and connect them together on the engine side.  Reason being, the contacts in the connector are barely adequate to handle the current.  Add a little corrosion and you can end up with an intermittent connection and oftentimes they will heat up due to the increased resistance and melt the bulkhead connector.  Then you have a real mess.  There is a writeup on this.  I think it's on the MYmopar site.

We did this mod. Works great!

Redline does make a gauge! Not sure what the price is.
