terrible one

While the '68 grill is my favorite, the '69-70 rear tail lights look better than the '68's to me. Still, I'll just keep my '68 the way it is.

This is a funny discussion.
We have in my forum similar discussions - is the better car the original one ?
Or when you build a car - what modifies are allowed without destroying the character of the car.

When I read all the posts here, I think that I do my own thing and than it is my way ...

Thanks for all your answers.

I've always preferred the '69 over the '68's, mostly because of the tail lights. The long, horizontal, rear panel looks better to me filled out with the larger tail lights. I also like the way they are recessed into the back of the car as opposed to the small, round ones that seem out of place to me. The car has plenty of swooping, horizontal lines all over it, the sides, the hood, the recessed rear window, & the long lights just look better to me. The grille is a toss up though. The split '69 was my favorite, but the cleaner '68 is really growing on me. I think it really depends on the color of the car. Darker colors make the '68 grille look more appealing for some reason, like Mike's Mr. Angry, but I still like the "I" in the middle.

Now the '70 is a whole different story. I had one & never got used to the big, fish lipped, bumper that surrounds the grille. The best thing to do with that, is to either take it off & put a Daytona cone on, or use the whole car for parts.  :D

Old Moparz, I guess you really don't like the black/orange Charger on the cover of the new Mopar Muscle? '70 Charger with '68 taillights  :scratchchin: Definately doesn't look right to me.
personally, I like the '68 grille on '68s, not a big fan of swapping different year parts. it is a bolt in item and can easily be undone, and it's your car, so do what makes you happy!

I haven' seen it, but you're probably right, LOL. I was kidding on the 70's comment, but it is the least favorite of the 3 years. As for swapping parts.............well...........I've done something like that before.  :D

My 1969 Satellite convertible has.....

1970 Nose From a GTX
1970 Road Runner Grille
1972 New Yorker Bucket Seats
1973 New Yorker Steering Wheel
1968 Coronet Rear Seat
1973 Duster Seat Belts
1968 Plymouth Quarter Panel

Well i'm not an originality freak but that's a bridge too far.....

I prefere the grille of the '68 and the tail of the '69 but i'll accept my '69 grille no such body surgery for me.

NOS is nice, turbo's are neat, but when it comes to Mopars, there's no need to cheat...

better to start with the tail lights you like then change the grille if you must.  its alot easier than   keeping the grill and changing the tail lights  :rotz:
