Yesterday, a local teenager asked me where my '70 was since he hadn't seen it yet this spring.  He then went on to tell me about a '65 Charger that some guy owned, but wasn't for sale.  Today I went looking for it, driving my '66.

I couldn't bellieve what I found!  It was a yellow '66 that was in the original paint.  It had a few small spots in the paint that were scratched or rubbed through.  I didn't even see any dings on it.  There was NO rust, I mean this car was straight.  It has a nice black interior.  Finally the owner came out and we talked '66 Chargers for a while.  He had recently purchased it from a little old Lady in a town a few miles away.  He said the car had about 100,000 miles.  Then, he said he was SELLING it.  I couldn't believe it...I mean I haven't seen a survivor '66 this nice in I don't know how long.  Of course I don't have any money (I mean NONE).  He fired the car up for me.  It has a poly-head 318 with manual brakes.  The headlight doors even worked in it.  They had no hesitation at all opening or closing.  They even worked at the same time.

The guy is asking $10,000 for it.  He lives in north west Washington.  If anyone is interested I will try to go back with a camera (let me know what you want pictures of) and I will get his phone number.

How about going over to www.66-67charger.com and post it up over there. There's a few guys over there that live out that way and might be able to help the guy sell it.

Rust free survivor car means alot to some people, I dont know 1st gen values at all but it doesnt sound that bad to me.  Those cars are cool.

You know the saying you snooze, you loose.  I went by on my way to work to take piictures and the car had already sold.  I wasn't kidding about the condition of the car either.  It was straight.  The 41 year old paint looked really good.  There was no rust.  The interior was rip-free.  The engine sounded great when he fired it up.  Oh well, like they say it's only worth what someone will pay for it.  I was just shocled to see it disappear so quickly
