I'm guessing it made more sense to show an older Charger in the wreck rather than a brand new car (at the time), movie budget wise. They probably went the local junk yard and bought one already wrecked and rolled it down the hill.

Not that there's anything wrong with that... in fact, why don't you go start your own club. That way the rest of us, who appreciate ALL the generations of Chargers for what they are can get back to it.

Just read a little history on that movie....Apparently they were planning to Roll a 3rd gen down the cliff !! But they felt the 3rd gen didn't look Charger enough....Quote "A little Fordish" I think thats how they put it..?
Go figure.

MAN we are all Charger enthusiasts here and that makes us cooler than 90% of the car community anyway!

Why can't we all just enjoy our cars without bickering? Whether it's generation 1 2 3 or even the new car, we need to remember that there are a lot of environmental nutjobs that would love to put ALL our cars in a gigantic shredder and get us all in priuses (  )

We already have a common thread, why can't that be enough?

   If it had been a 3rd gen someone woulda been slighted too. I think it's a shame to wreck any old car. How many 50 Mercs were slaughtered in the making of Cobra? How many 69s were molested in the Dukes catastrophe? If you go back through all the action movies of the 60s, 70s, and 80s you'll probly find a whole lot of cool/collectable/even rare cars were wrecked or butchered. Fact is, they were and still are just a car.
