Everytime I look at a potential new project I always need to prove who I am, what I do, where I live, what color of underware I ware and how much $ I have on my account.

This is getting really annoying. Thanks to all   those f#ck!ng Scam Lozers I getting a hard time to negotiate on a deal.
Got any advice?
Maybe it's better to work through a local person but then I need to constantly have to ask for help.

It's tough these days. There are a few bad apples making it difficult for everyone. I have been ripped off. I'm very careful with my dealings now. I sell a ton of stuff on Ebay. Some of the transactions are pretty large. I have no problem when someone wants to know more about me. It think it's smart business. I don't give out social security numbers and that type of stuff but I will give my home address and phone number. I will even give references if necessary.

Just some advice, when references are given, use them. I've been scammed too, he even gave references, same guy, partners, I don't know, but the guy has about 12 more years in prison for it.

I was ripped off only one time on E-bay and it was only $25.00 so I was lucky. I will not buy unless I get a phone number and talk with the person on the phone. I had one seller that sent me his address but told me "I do not give out my phone number" had information look up his phone number ;D He was a little shock when I called him. After he got over that he was fine and I bought the Preamp.

CB, I don't know about the underware part, but I can not blame them. With the internet you never know who or how old the other person is. Just like this site I will ad.

I spent money making overseas calls to the seller(s), to my shipper(s), to the trucker, etc. It all costs me money but I know I have to spend it to be informed.
It just pisses me off when people start to act like I am the scammer.

I paid my cars in full on the sellers bank account, trusted them to keep the car off the road so no accident could happen. They can always rip me off and dissapear. How can I hunt someone down when I live 1000s of miles away ???

The spam scam e-mails over here are pretty continual though CB with people pretending to be from overseas and wanting to buy cars and so on.  It just really raises everybody's caution meter after a while.

I'm hardcore about my ebay transactions. I once bought a fuel sending unit for the charger and the company returned my money with no communications and refused to respond to me asking why.   I figured maybe they didn't actually have it in stock (it was a 'store' kinda thing), and I was going to let it slide... but when I checked again, and they had three more auctions they had just listed for the same thing at a higher price, I figured it was either a mistake they refused to own up to, or a bait & switch scam.   That's not really even fraud, since I got my money back, but it still ticked me off - so I left bad feedback, thought I'd go on with my life.   The punkarses then left ME bad feedback, with the feeback being - get this - "We apologize for any inconvenience.   Please call 1-800-(whatever their number was)"   I had perfect 100% before these twits, and I did nothing wrong!!!   Now, keep in mind, I had called that number already, sat on hold for an hour, and gave up.   So, I check my email, and they FINALLY emailed me - asking for a "mutual feedback retraction".   It occured to me that this was how these twits kept such good feedback: they just withhold their own feedback, and if they get bad, they give it back and extort a retraction from the other party!

Anyway, it pissed me off so bad I refused: I payed the $35 or whatever ridiculous cost it is to get ebay to 'mediate' a resolution, held my ground, and got their removed while mine stayed.   So, in the end, the twits did cost me $35 ... But at least I still have my 100%, and at least THEY didn't get any money...   Jerks...

Well... I guess that wasn't completely on the topic... :P

 :)CB,
Tell them to call me, I sold you a car, and I know you are a good guy. There was a lot to get it ready for shipping, but you did most of the work.

Thanks again, and I hope the 69 is doing well.

Yay less work for me  :icon_smile_big:

I know how annoying it is that the seller doesn't cooperate well while the buyer takes the real risk by sending him money, especially when we're talking cars. But I can alos understand their caution for reasons mentioned .
I can say that without Troy, Snake and many others, I wouldn't have a charger now, it's near impossible to buy a charger or ANY wanted car when you're that far from it, I can't count how many I missed out on because someone saw it on the seller's driveway and laid down the cash.
But on the other hand, even if you live in the states, it doesn't mean you can just 'go over there'
How far is it from eastcoast to westcoast? Belgium to Michigan is 4000 miles, I wouldn't know how to go check out a car that's being sold in Ca .
Anyway if it helps, when I'm in Michigan again, call me first, at least that way I can call the seller a little cheaper AND he won't see some alien number appear on his phone. You know how troubling THAT can be  :D
Now...wth are you buying now and when can I drive it  ???  :icon_smile_big:
