My wife is a Ford girl thru and thru, and tells me a 65-66 fastback rebuild is in my future! :yesnod: :icon_smile_wink:

Same for me :yesnod: But she have to enjoy her 65 Ht for some years first :D Im just glad she is in to cars :icon_smile_big:

Yup. Like classic Mustangs for sure. There's an awesome purple Mach I that is lurking around my area somewhere, always great to see it out -- thing is obviously well cared for too.

Mustangs sound great.  They look great, at least the fastbacks, (67-70) and lee iacocca designed it

                                    :rotz:

lee did not design the mustang...

Brock Samson

"Iacocca was involved with the design of several successful Ford automobiles, most notably the Ford Mustang."

there are better sources of info avail..

after restoring a couple of old stangs, a 65 and a 66, I'll tell you that I'll never own one of those cars. They are built like tinkertoys. Frankly I dont trust a car that the main peice of structural stability in the trunk area is the gas can which fills the huge hole in the trunk floor.....its just like the pinto, except the mustang didnt have 60 minutes to show the country about it.

Brock Samson

they tend to sag in the middle  :yesnod:

seats are straight up and down   :-\

reear seat is usless

sterring wheel is in the wrong location and are general lee over priced

BTW: my buddies made a hobby of stealing them when i was a young teen but i just went along joy riding
most sought after were the four speed mach 1s   :D

still i lust after a Shelby GT 500   :icon_smile_wink:

actually, he was on the TEAM that designed it.  :P

ya the other thing is that i'm only 6' tall and my head rubs on the headliner. not a comfortable car.

a little info is a dangerous thing   :P

"First conceived by Ford product manager Donald N. Frey [2][3] and championed by Ford Division general manager Lee Iacocca, the Mustang prototype was a two-seat, mid-engine roadster. This would later be remodeled as a four-seat car penned by David Ash and John Oros[4] in Ford's Lincoln–Mercury Division design studios, which produced the winning design in an intramural design contest called by Iacocca. To cut down the development cost, the Mustang was based heavily on familiar, yet simple components. Much of the chassis, suspension, and drive train components were derived from the Ford Falcon"

your simply amazing    :yesnod:

what other pearls of wisdom ya got for us?..

moparguy01

that doesnt mean thats the way it works everywhere. Ioccoca may have designed the body, but then somebody else designed the interior, and someone else designed the suspension, and someone else the wiring, etc etc etc.

Didn't Steve McQueen loose to the charger in Bullitt?  Anywho, women love good guys, but have sex with bad guys and only bad guys drive Chargers. So sell your mustang, buy a charger then you'll get laid.

Charger-Bodie

Errr. Nothing wrong with a Falcon either....

I'll tell many a car to park down the street so I could fit this in the driveway anyday...(snapped from the auto collection at Imperial Palace, Vegas).

Yeah, that's how it works with unionized labor.  Takes 20 people to screw in a lightbulb

hemi-hampton

I've had many old 60's Mustangs in the past. I'll take a 69 Boss 429 Hemi (black) or 69 Mach 1 with 428 scj(black again) anytime. :scratchchin: LEON.

hemi-hampton

That Falcon looks like the Australian version? LEON.
