exhaust fumes gives me head aches

I have a full length exhaust but still getting head aches when driving +50 miles.
Any solution for that?

Can you smell exhaust fumes in the car when driving?  If so, there has to be a leak there someplace.  Are you running headers or manifolds?

running headers, maybe those seals leak? they are old!

See if you can score some percy's dead soft aluminum to seal them babies up.  It's a cheap/realiable way to start troubleshooting.  Collectors leaking too?
Is the exhaust in good shape throughout?  Oh yeah and soak with PB BLASTER(no substitute except for flame) if they are old for a day.

I don't need another broken bolt when replacing the seals. Maybe better to wait until I need to pull the engine in the winter. Thanks for the tip though.

Make sure there are no more holes than necessary on the firewall and floor too.  You might also want to check the collector flange for leaks.  If the headers are old, it doesn't hurt to look for cracks in them either, especially where the tubes come together.

Get some Seafoam engine cleaner from NAPA. Get the car warmed up and pour some down the carb. That stuff will put out white smoke like nobody's business and you will QUICKLY find any and all exhast leaks.

And you'll clean out your combustion chambers in the process. 2 for 1 deal!

Exhaust fumes in the cockpit don't have to come from under-the-car leaks, improper tail pipe location will allow fumes to swirl around in the airstream and enter the trunk through the trunk lid weatherstripping if the trunk lid doesn't seal tight to the rubber.

Hi my 73 Charger used to do the same I changed the trunk seal no more problems, Before I did this the car sucked in more fumes with the windows open than closed Hope this helps. Shaun

if the 1/4 have been replaced or the trunk drops are not fulled sealed up the car will pull in fumes ,you need to use a seam sealer anywhere where there is gaps in the sheet metal
