I highly doubt it, you know judging from the slightly crispy arm sticking out behind the middle of the door, and the blood spot which would be about head level to someone sitting in a corvette......

DC_1

Its definitely not a arm in the back......but the splatter is inconclusive. I would say it is to high to be someones head but I don't know what it could be.

Wakko

Here's what I see:  The force of the impact snapped the rear bumper of the trailer (isn't that four inch square tubing?) and pushed it forward.  Besides the obvious splatter of THICK blood (i.e. it's got some goo in there too) on the trailer right where a head would be, there are pieces of skull and scalp on the ground.  Remember, the impact of the crash would have caused the driver to fly forward and probably upward so it's quite possible his head hit the handle there.  The driver's door was removed by Fire/Rescue, but no extrication was done...so that sucker's dead.  And if he's dead and still in there, that COULD be his arm visible.  The interior isn't tan, so that's my guess.  Also, from the yellow tarp, position of the patrol cars and the black fabric divider behind the trailer, they're hiding it from the press and/or passing traffic.  A definite sign of a fatality.

More than likely though, he never knew what hit him after saying "Oh, crap!"

After further review I concur with Grism....errr....I mean Wakko!

:iagree: And with the shape of the hood, it could pass for a Batmobile of sorts. :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

I Wonder if the truckdriver was found  "at fault" for the accident.  Looks like he was parked/sleeping in the breakdown lane. Up in the northeast [I guess, looking at the vette's plates] overnite parking for trucks is almost nonexistant. This type of accident happens all too often up and around the tri-state area. :icon_smile_dissapprove:

You know better to say that, come on, it's always our fault even if witnesses said it wasn't :rotz:

Wakko

I dont see any reason why it would be his fault.  The vette was flat movin, must have been passing in the right lane.   Well, unless the truck was backing up reaaaaaaaaaaally fast.

I get the impression that the truck was stopped. Wouldn't the pieces of scalp/skull be left far behind if they were moving along?

Wakko

You're right, the truck was stopped...but I'm thinking the vette was haulin ass down the highway and attempted to pass in the breakdown lane.   He had to be going at least 50-60 when he hit.

Most of the time an accident happens like this as long as a truck or bus etc. is involved they try to place some blame on them account they are professional drivers and they are suppose to be able to prevent things like this from happening.

SeattleCharger

Almost looks fake, but the reflections of the windows and shutters on the side of the truck look real.

Why would you want anything else?  Just give me a Charger and I'll be happy.

DC_1

No its real.....I remember the truck was on Ebay last year and the guy who owned it had this pic along with pics of it after it was yanked outta the house.

SeattleCharger

Here are four shots I took out of my windshield, actually the fourth was out of my side window rolled down, took the shots as I rolled past the wreck.   This wreck had the W. Seattle Freeway westbound lanes pretty snarled up all afternoon.   This was maybe in the end of this July or early August.

Not really sure what the big debate is about.   ???

Its a 1968 GTX...'68 marker lights, '68 GTX stripes and quarter emblem, '68 GTX grill, plus it has bucket seats which are not common in a Runner anyway.

BTW: Did Roadrunners come from the factory with the chrome exhaust tips? If you notice the wrecked GTX has them.

Could you even get buckets in a 68 Road Runner?

Hey Wakko- didi they let the truck driver try and drive off that vette or did they have someone come down and lift it?
To set the bar higher than you can reach is a dumb way to do pull-ups.

Wakko

Damifino.  I would think they would use airbags or a boom truck to lift the trailer a couple inches and another boom truck to pull the vette out.  Otherwise they could anchor the vette and let the truck drive off, but the truck company may not want to risk damage to the truck that could be "caused by the driver" even though it was in response to the crash.

Never thought of that aspect.

I should get my camera drivers loaded soon so I can grab a pick of the latest victim to come into the yard.  The truck is screwed, but the driver walked.
