what happened no 68 pics. but still very cool thanks

I was there on Saturday.   Seemed to me there were only 3 maybe 4 68 Chargers there.   I was kinda bummed too, I was hoping to see more for engine bay reference shots.   There may have been more on Friday or Sunday.   Or in the back row...I didn't make it to the farthest corners

Thanks for the pics! :).....more please :yesnod:

If Plumbad70 doesn't mind, I'll piggyback on his thread and add a few of my pics....seems to make more sense than starting another thread.

Pic 1:   A cool plum Chally
Pic 2:   One of the few 68s, used in the movie "Rush"
Pic 3:   Engine bay shot of the Rush Charger

A few more...

1.  HemiGeno's rig
2.  Long row of nose cones
3.  Long row of wings (with Geno's hemi floating in the background)

It was a pretty cool show, I thought.   A bit hot for my taste, though.   Didn't run into Plumbad, but did get to meet Troy, 41Husk(Allen, who gave me a great deal on an aircompressor  ) LGKuda, and HemiGeno.   Hopefully my 68 will be there next year.

Here are a few last pics from me...seemed like I saw as many Mopars outside the show as in it.

1.   The parking lot at the local Hampton late Saturday.
2.   A few vipers happened to pull into the same rest stop I was at on Sunday, somewhere north of Springfield, IL
3.   The Monster Mopars were just everywhere.

ChargerRush who was a member on the old D-C board owns this car. Saw the car, but didn't catch up with him at the show.

Wish I could have stayed longer, but I was cooked. I elected to drive home to Evansville rather than stay over night in St. Louis.

Met Troy briefly as I was heading for the gate.

Yeah it was parked at the holiday inn beautifull car!!

That car was at Carlisle for $95k - didn't sell. It was at the Nats for $123k (I think) - didn't sell. It was at Monster Mopar for $115 - didn't sell. It doesn't have the original engine and it's a column shift car. The one thing that everyone keeps missing is that it has a white interior but the upper door pads are black. I just thought that was funny after they brag about how great the restoration is. I have an extra set of white upper door pads but I don't have $100k+ to buy a car to put them in... ;)

Didn't even dawn on me untill I got home that this is hemigeno ? :icon_smile_blackeye:

Oh wow - an action shot!

Thanks, PlumBad & Recharger for all the pics - there were some AWESOME cars at the show.  ?As usual, it was too hot & humid for comfort, but that's St. Louis in early September for 'ya.  ?Attendance seemed down a little, although there seemed to be about as many cars in the show field as previous years.

We thought there were going to be even more wing/aero cars than actually showed, but there were still 25 in total between the two days.  ?I think gas prices and hot/sunny weather kept some of them away from what I heard.  ?I'll try and do better next year to get them all parked in line.  ?It was still neat what we had though...

Ty (694spdRT) took first place too!!!  ? :2thumbs:  ? Congrats!

I enjoyed meeting up with everyone that I had a chance to find (or that found me) - Recharger, Troy, 41husk, 69_500, 694spdRT, Daytona R/T SE, OneBadSuperbird, and a couple of other forum guys that I'm sure I'll think of here later today.  ?

Lots of people were impressed by that '71, and with good reason.

Jerry Narramore talked with the owner of that car.  It came out of the body shop just a couple of days ago - to say it was a fresh restoration would be something of an understatement.  It was about as close to flawless as you can get, according to Jerry (and from what I saw too).  That's saying something coming from Jerry, since he has a Blue '71 Hemicar that is nothing short of incredible in its own right.

Hey Hemigeno,

Congrats on the 1st place trophy in the Hemi class...I didn't hear how your rig did in the "unclassable" class though.  ;D

I thought I could smell the fresh paint in the trunk of that '71. The car stopped me dead in my tracks as I was walking by.

Here are some of the '71 Hemi Cuda that took Best of Show in all the original classes. Obviously very very nice as well and the only one built in this color combo.

It was a fun show.  The cars were amazing.    I was actually looking for that 71 R/T blue Hemi car. I talked to the owner in Vegas.  He's a really nice guy with a great find.   I didn't see it there.  Yeah that red 71 R/T was a beauty!

Of course, saw Hemigeno there, but he had a crowd that he was talking to so I didn't stop.

Anyone get any pictures of the 71 yellow R/T that had the white stripes and white interior???  It also had a sunroof.

I was looking over the 72 Charger in the swap meet with the 440 six pack set up, R/T hood, and tail lights.  He was asking $10k for it.  While I was looking at it, I heard someone talk about their 72 Petty Blue rallye for sale.  I think he gave me his number, but I lost it.  Hopefully, he wil contact me.  I gave him my business card.

I didn't get to hang around on Sunday.  My buddy and I left around 9:30 am to head back to Michigan.  I did get to go to the St. Louis Cardinals game on Saturday night with my friend Lori that lives in Clayton.

Can't wait till next year!

Thanks, Ty!

The truck did well too - I suppose you could say that it was the class of the no-class field... errr, something like that...     :P

Geno, man you truck is far above anything I have seen before. Yep I like your Charger but the truck just blew me away.

Geno and I took a little trip in the truck. Hemi Charger or Daytona would not as many questions or thumps as he got. Blew me away when he open the side doors and I saw the 318 Poly with the dual 4 barrels.
