Boy, that DodgeDon name sure seems familiar... ;)

Very meticulous I must say.

Yes it does, and yes it is. :icon_smile_big:

An inspiration to us all!   :yesnod:

Dead serious!

Not long after I bought my car, Don & I ended up getting in touch and I stopped by his place with a six pack and a list of questions.  We spent about 2 hours in his garage looking over his car and all of the parts he had restored and stashed to wait for the assembly process to begin.  He also showed me a great method to keep track of parts and organizing them.  In his garage he has numerous cabinets, all lettered and numbered.  In each cabinet are countless boxes and bags containing parts, whether they be new ones or ones he has restored, each with a label or tag attached.  On his laptop he has a folder which contains lists of each part he has on file and the location of the part within his house.  For example, I had asked where his restored parking brake assembly was, he looked up the part on the screen, saw location - cabinet 24 and sure enough, there it was.

I haven't seen his basement but I am told it looks like a warehouse with shelves from one end to the other, all with the parts tagged and labeled.

As far as the restoration goes, I've gotten a lot of good advice and tips from Don.  His car will be beautiful when it's done, even though it's a '70!    :pity:

When all is said and done, we are going to figure out a way to transfer all of that to the site. It may blow me out of the water space wise, but it's a must have for any Charger owner.

Don has also done all 4 decoders on the site. Very long process, but very easy to understand and learn from. They aren't even done yet.

He's the man.  :2thumbs:

Dodge Don

Thanks guys. Since there was little info on restorations online I thought I'd try to document mine step by step, bolt by bolt to help others. After awhile I exceeded the sites capacity to upload more pictures/info and I basically gave up on that site. It's abondoned...I rarely look at it.

I do of course have EVERYTHING documented so when my resto is done I would very much like to document it for others to use. May not be 100% correct resto...but 98%+ is close enough. The "book" on restoring a 70 Charger....it's a bit of a dream but who knows, with the help of other 70 Charger Registry Members we might one day just pull it off. It'll be Chris' nightmare to figure out how to host it on the site  :o

Between Don & Bill (TX9), the '70 site definitely has an answer to practically any question a '70 owner can throw in.

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
