(by request of RD  ;) )  Well....My son and I were going on a quick 150 mile trip today to pick up a steering column for RD, so I decided to swing by one of my fave junkyards on the way and take a look around. We were about ready to leave when I realized I was looking at the butt end of a
newly arrived 73-74 Charger. A quick look revealed that it was a 73 SE 400, 4bbl bucket seat, Rallye Gauge car with cruise, column shift/buddy seat, rear defogger, and AC. The only items missing were the Tail light lenses, radio, carb, radiator, seats, and the Opera window trim. We kicked
into high gear and got all we could in an hour and a half. I have to admit, I have that 16 YO son of mine trained right. He can dismantle a Charger very quickly and capably. I am going to go back later this week and finish stripping it.  ;D  The car is fairly rusty. The fenders and 1/4`s are totally shot. Suprisingly, the trunk looks pretty good. I am going to try and cut it out with my trusty sawzall.
PLEASE NOTE...THIS IS NOT A FOR SALE THREAD. ALL INQUIRIES ABOUT PARTS WILL BE IGNORED.  :yesnod:   I don`t take a camera to junkyards with me, just lots of tools and cash. Here are some pics of todays loot.

grilles, buddy seat, front filler trim, rear valance.

man that is an awesome looking steering column you got there! :D  hehehehe

can't wait to rebuild that puppy (arrgghhh)  I got all the NOS parts for it already though.... just have to tear it down and bead blast that puppy when it arrives.  Thanks Tom!

Oh... pm me with the details about getting it sent ($$$)

lastly,  cannot wait to see what you haul in from that charger... that valance looks to be in great shape!

Unfortunately, there were several pics that were slightly too large to post here, such as one of the cruise control unit and cables. Regardless, it was an enjoyable day driving around the countryside, getting dirty, and bring home some Charger parts.

Good thing for you that there was not a Rim blow steering wheel on that column. I would have had to remove it and keep it, in lieu of gas money  ;D
The rear valance was in extremely nice condition. It was surprising as most of the sheet metal on the car is junk.
Don`t worry about the $$$..... Someday.....I might see something in KS that i want picked up for me  :icon_smile_big:

Hey Twilt how much do you want for the.............. :icon_smile_big:

:haha: :haha: I wish I did not have to write that disclaimer, but for me its kind of annoying to get 10 PM`s from people wanting to buy stuff everytime I do a Junkyard dawg post. I come here to learn more about Chargers and enjoy the company of other enthusiasts, not to sell.

Looks like you had a pretty good haul there. Is that a 12 volt sawzall, or do you just carry a really long extension cord? :icon_smile_big:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)
