Thanks for the kudos all. To Charger Fan, yea we think we pulled off a good thing. The woman whose car it was, told everyone: "I'm going to give it to my son, and he is going to fix it up." She had been saying that for at least 10 years to anyone who wanted to buy the car. I told her immediately after "What are you going to give your son, a pile of rust? That is what it will be if the car doesn't get attention now." 

That comment seemed to motivate her a little bit.

BTW - Do you now if a white car with a green top and green interior is a rare color combo? Thats what she was born with and I haven't seen any like it online or elsewhere. Just curious.

As far as I know, that is a fairly rare color combo, especially the green top on a white car. Some of the other guys here know their 68's better than I do & could probably give you better feedback as to it's rarity.

Other than the rear window area, it looks like the body's not half bad overall, compared to a lot of other Chargers that have been completely neglected for decades. I hope all goes well for you guys, it looks like you're going at it full speed ahead.

Thanks for the input. As you have seen, I started a poll to get opinions on the rareity of the color combo. Thanks for your feed back there too.

You are correct in your assesment that the car is in pretty solid shape. That rear window is going to be a bear to fix, but other than that she is pretty straight. There is no rust damage to the frame, all the parts are there and the dents and scratches to the panels are easy fixes. Some of the grill section was a bent a little, but our body just tells us that it souldn't be a problem to align. All in all, we found a pretty solid restoration candidate. I just need to figure our what I am going to paint it.

If a majority of the people out there had an overwhelming response saying that White exterior, Green Top and Green inside was rare, I was just going to restore it to that spec. I didn't want to ruin something that barely existed anymore. However people are saying that it is pretty common, which has me thinking Tripple black with a black muted stripe.
