I have a 72 big block Charger Rallye with 15" road wheels. Would like to get repro Goodyear Polyglas tires but they seem way pricey. What would you all recommend? What tire sizes will look good?

Thanks

Try Universal Vintage Tire out in Hershey, PA.  Really good prices and even better customer service.

I was looking at the F60 x 15 Goodyear Polyglas GT tires at $310 each! Seems high to me. Are these NOS?

moparguy01

nope thats a repop. I dont know why people buy them, cause they really suck if you ever intent to drive the cars much.

Sounds like I would be better off with BFG Radial T/A or something similar then. I don't hear much good about the repop Goodyears.

moparguy01

well there was a reason that tire production switched from a bias ply tire to the modern radial. its just that much better

resq302

Yes but if you are going a concours route, you need what came with the car originally.  I have Firestone F70-14 bias ply white streak tires on my charger and they seem to handle as well as the radials.  My dads Goodyear G70-14's on his 70 El Camino SS 396 handles totally different than my bias plys and his other set of BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires make a night and day difference compared to the other set of rims/tires with the bias plys. ???

Looks and Concourse would  be the only reason to buy them. :icon_smile_big:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

there is one other reasone to buy them and thats because they look s dang good i myself opted for repop wide oval firestones from coker for the fact that they were way cheaper than the goodyears, niether were correct for my 68 anyway so 700.00 for 4 tires was far better than 1300.00 ..........and by the way i think they handle real nice probley not as good as BFGs but still pretty good
