got my radiator in today and its wrong size of course the mounting holes on the new one is 29 inches and my mounting holes are only 24 ...... has anyone ever cut their opening bigger to accept a larger radiator and if so what are the pro,s and cons .. this car isnt an original its just gonna be a nice driver so i dont mind modifying the radiator support but i dont want to jeapordize any strength issues either.... or should i just return the thing and get right size... motor is a 383 4bbl stock with headers

For the radiator 22" to 26" details, check out pg. 4 of my '70 Roadrunner resto project...It's all there.

I've seen guys just bolt the 26" rad. into the 22" opening, but I think that cuts off the air to a few rows of cores, and that may make it hotter?
