I hear the Canadian army bought a bunch of septic tanks. As soon as they figure out how to drive them, they're invading us.

I hear that they also just bought a bunch of French flags.  You know, in case they ever need to surrender.

speaking of Mexicans...here's a true funny fact: :hah:

The Mexican Air Force is pissed off because the Mexican Navy just ordered 12 Su-27 fighters. Apparently upon delivery, the Navy will have more fighters, not too mention superior to the F5's the Air Force has.

Unfortunately, I did my PLQ when it was called a JLC (or CLC), twenty years ago....back in the RCA Battle School in Shilo! So there's not much info I can pass along. Other than don't give the staff any grief.

Wow.  Guys, I was just messing around.  I thought the  :P would have indicated that.

I didn't mean any actual harm, and to the extent that anyone was offended, I'm sorry.

Forza

Use your god damn head, just once. How do you think we would like people bashing our military? Not everything has to be a god damn joke with you and Ponch.

I've already apologized, and it's not real bashing when it's obviously not meant to be serious.  Maybe it's time you learned to take a joke?

Forza

Trust me I can take a joke. What I don't get is how you two feel this is the topic to bash the Canadian army? He posted a question specifically for other member in the Canadian army about an upcoming exam. Maybe I can't take a joke because I don't see the humor in this :icon_smile_question:

OK.....
A joke.
How about this....we limit our joking to non-political, non-religious topics?
And no more Canada bashing.
That way I don't start a rant that I'm sure will DEFINATELY offend.

Does PLQ stand for Primary Leadership Qualification?

Is it a requirement to get advanced to MS/MCpl?

Is it a fitness module of some sort?

I know I'm not helping but trying to learn some stuff.  The acronyms are throwing me a little.

We could do that, but come on, how boring would that be?  Besides, you don't need to worry about offending me.  I'm a big boy.  I can take it.  (Seriously, I get it a lot from some people on this board already.)  Plus, I can laugh at myself.

I know I'm not a member of the Canadian army, and I haven't "earned the right" to bash it - but jokes are different from bashing.  One has a totally different purpose.  If I was bashing, I never would have apologized for offending (seriously, I don't have a problem with Canada, and my second post was more directed at France anyway).  But I'm not really ready to self-censor in order to protect the delicate sensibilities of some people on the board, even in spite of my lack of malicious intent.

As such, the jokes will continue.  Feel free to send some my way (I'm particularly susceptible to lawyer jokes, young-people jokes - I'm only 24 - and white guy jokes).

Vainglory, Esq.

Btw, I'm not sure if you saw this thread, but here's an example of a joke directed at another country (Venezuela) actually being taken as a joke.

http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,28519.msg311608.html#msg311608

The negative reaction in this thread frankly surprised me, since these usually go over okay.  That's why I apologized in the first place.

Orange_Crush

This has GOT to be the funniest thread on this board (better even than the back-waxing), not because of the jokes (I mean...c'mon...its Canada's military...making jokes about Canada's military is like shooting puppies in a barrel...no sport at all in it) but more because of the indignant reactions of some members.

Lord guys...its not like we're making fun of President Tim Horton or any of your national heroes like Celine Dion or Bryan Adams.
I ain't got time for pain, the only pain I got time for is the pain i put on fools how don't know what time it is.

Just remember we did go to war with you guys and we burned the white house down! :yesnod:
so play nice :icon_smile_big:

SirNik73

OK OK OK... no more fighting... what is the best way to stop fighting a make friends? Have a common enemy... So let's stop joking about Canada, and let's start telling jokes about France!

For your enjoyment!
