So I had a customer's car in the shop the other day...     and we decided to put it on the dyno just for kicks...      it made 593hp at the crank..        yet the a/f was WAY lean...   17.4:1...      so i ask the question...     how much is too much ?   this is a iron headed 500" wedge....    that runs on 91 octane...      our dyno guy says with a better carb and some tuning he's looking at over 650hp as is...      the customer is thinking about aluminum INDY heads as well...         when does it just get pointless

Wait a minute... Did you just suggest that there IS, in fact, such a thing as too much horsepower? That's a joke, right?

This is a street car only...      never races....        isnt 600+ a little extreme for 4-5 days a week driving ?

NOPE! :icon_smile_cool:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Guess it depends on how much you want to pay for gas.

If hes got the money to pay for the gas..then why not? Let's be glad its not a 16 year old kid running around in it though.
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

IMO you dont need 600 h.p but there's nothing wrong with it iether. I think guys get caught up in the h.p game meaning..."300 h.p is ok, but 400 is better, 450 would be nice, lets make it 500, how about 550? why not a even 600?" if he's never gonna use it its kinda pointless, but i also agree with the "no such thing as too much"   :2thumbs:
