This looks very much like the one in my 69 now. What about the finish? Most I have seen are black. But I remember seeing a brown 69 R/T that had a gold cad booster and looked 100% original under the hood.I think the price and shipping costs look fair.I appreciate any opinions. Thanks

Shakey

The Bendix booster (disc brakes) was painted black.  The Midland Ross (drum brakes) was plated.

There is a thread with some more details somewhere.

Also, you're picture is not showing up.

Here's Chris' thread on this. Don't know if it's the one Mike(shakey) is talking about though.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

I just posted the link to the booster on Ebay.Still curious if a power drum brake booster should be painted black or plated.

DO NOT BUY ONE OF THESE FROM DEPENDONAUTO FROM EBAY.  THEY ARE PITIFUL.  LONG STORY BUT IF YOU WANT DETAILS, LET ME KNOW.

All the original power drum brake cars with this booster were cad plated........

Thats what I thought Chris. Now whats wrong with buying the one in the Ebay auction? I dont want to put junk in my breaking system.

The one i recieved the bolt pattern was rotated 90 off.  after 3 days off trying to get ahold off them i finally did.  they told me to just loosen it up and rotate it..  i wouldnt so i sent it back at my expense.   they rotated it and said it was fine.  i got it back and the pushrod didnt look right.  i opend it up out of curiousity and they shattered the entire booster inside by rotating it.  i finally got ahold of them and told me it was not there fault and must have happend during shipping.  they said they would call me back.  i asked for the manufactures name and they wouldnt give it to me.  i found it out on my own and they replaced it for me.  I got ahold of dependauto once more, and told them that it was being replaced by the manufacturer.  they told me they knew that it was being taken care of for me, but they were flat out lying.  they are rude, foul language and very very poor business. do not buy from them.

I take it you won't be doing business with them again. ;)  Do you happen to have the name and number of the manufacturer? How was the finish on the booster when you got it from them ? I would like to talk directly to them. Thanks,Ron

Would not do business with them ever again.......Worst customer service and business ethics ever.  The manufacturer on the other hand were very pleasant and eager to help.  There website has changed in the last month, but I believe this is it.

MBM is the wholesale part of Pirate Jacks.  Both are in Asheville.  They are really nice folks to deal with.

I called MBM and talked to them about the Bendix dual diaphram booster for 2nd gen Mopars that they have a picture of on their website and have been going to get in for the last year and a half.  They say that they really do plan to get this piece in eventually but that they had been having problems with the supplier getting it right.  He said he didn't know what it was about this piece but that they have had more trouble getting it in than about any other they have done.  But he has high hopes that they will eventually have the booster available.  Probably in the next 3-4 months.  So thats the latest on that.  I guess we will see.
