Cool. You can see the ones that they bent the corners when they did the factory spray.  Bet he wished they didn't go to the scrapper if they were removed way back when.

terrible one

Anyone remember that Ebay auction that was for like 50 or 100 Charger tags? Or just Mopar tags. Something like that. Didn't a member end up buying them and wanted to see if he could find people with the cars they belonged to?

Here's the link. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,20616.90.html  The member sounded like he was going to register the tags with the registries, but we have never heard from him...ever.

At least one of those tags isn't for a Charger though.

On a somewhat related note Chris (and Chris) how do you folks feel about getting info on roadworthy cars without knowing who the owners are or the locations?  I ask because I record a lot of tag info at the auctions or from any cars that come into the shop.  I never send it on to the registries because I'm not sure what the position is on that.

Ghoste, good question. We (me and Don) get sent tag pictures from shows all the time. We obviously add them to the registry, but most of the time do not know who the cars belong to. Cars and locations change so quickly nowadays, that the most important thing is still the car. We could not learn the things we do without trying to document as many cars as possible. We love to get owners personal info, but only from the actual owner.

As far as auctions, they are fair game to whoever wants to take pictures. If not for ebay, we wouldn't have tracked hundreds of cars that have changed hands. As far as cars coming in to your personal shop, well, that's not my call. I would mention the registries to any owner that brings their car in. If they give you an ok to take whatever pics you want, then all the better. I have met people that I know would never take the time to register, but at the same time they tell me to take whatever pics I want and register the car on my own with no owners info.

Bottom line... The more cars that get registered, the better. No VIN's or personal info are ever released, so it's a no risk situation  :Twocents: I can't tell you how many great emails we get about the site (probably all registry owners get the same). That couldn't be done without the help of the people actually sending those emails.

I'm the high bidder. If I win them I'll post them on here and see if they belong to anyone

Guys like you are the one's I am hoping Don't win auctions like this. Again I will bring up another old thread. http://www.dodgecharger.com/forum/index.php/topic,22453.msg243812.html#msg243812

Nah,I'm not going to use them for the forces of evil.  I read the thread.  I don't have a fendertag on my 70 charger and know how frustrating it is, SO If I was to win it I would post the vin on here and if its yours I would give it to you FOR FREE!!!

The sooner guys like you move on to something else, the better.  :rotz: Oh... :Twocents:

It isn't my personal shop so I'm limited there as well.  Most of the time, it's cars being temporarily stored there until being transported to the next auction.  Occasionally they are cars bought by RM on speculation so ownership and location are not yet established.
In any case, I'll try and assemble what I have and forward it to you.  I suspect that most of the information will already be in your files.

I'm trying to up my skills by remembering these numbers so Im practising whenever I can! Sorry if Im being a nuisance... :icon_smile_big:
