Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Me personally I prefer the SLR digital camera's. That is just me though. I shoot with a Nikon D100 as well as the Nikon D200.

Great camera's. A little pricey yes. can pick up a D100 for around $450 for the body. The real prices hit you when you start looking at a good lens. That is when the sticker shock will sink in.

Stay away from Fuji.

Now that is the best advise on this thread, we have a FinePix F700 or so can't recall exactly, it will make you format the card every 20 pictures or so... So why did I buy a 1gig XD card when you can't take more than 20 pictures :RantExplode: Fuji says they can't find the problem and that it works fine with their cards... So I bought a Fuji XD card 1gig thinking that would be the answer... Well you can guess it still does the same thing, send it back again, came back again with the reply that no problem had been noticed :RantExplode:

anything you take, of course take some one with OPTICAL zoom... digital zoom is crap, and is the same that you make a zoom on any graphic software, pixeling everything...

I have known good opinions about Casio Exlims, specially for the price ane final results, but honestly I can't give you a personal opinion

:iagree: That's why I have purchased new Olympus SP550-UZ (after checking some reviews): 18 x opticall zoom (that's a monster lens for everyday shooting!) and other goodies (Image stabilization included in this one).
