If that is a Charger, where's the rust ;D Look's like you had a good one. Had the Charger been done before and you are just giving it a faces lift?

Actually I believe that is pretty much original paint. Story goes it that the car was stolen around 1984??? And ended up in a junk yard. The man that I bought it from bought it from the junk yard around I would guess 1992 and started to restore it. He took rust out of the quarters and re-did the interior. When I bought the car around June of this year the paint and body work was horrible but luckily no rust. Car is original Y3 Cream but that color did not settle well with me. Went down to Patterson Paint here in Fresno and got the chip for Hemi Orange and the car will be painted that color. We have the motor and trans in our garage and the motor has been dressed up and the transmission has been rebuilt with a shift kit. Motor is not numbers matching but a 69 HP 440 Magnum.

Will keep posted with more pics as it comes along!

Strat, you had boobs on the brain last thursday, huh? ;D

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Update 9/15/05

Hey i took a few shots of the engine in my shop. It is pretty much finished just wanted to dress it up a bit.

1969 HP 440 Magnum

- Bored .30 over Keith Black forged pistons
- 10:5 compression i believe
- New freeze plugs, starter, alternator, fuel lines, plugs, wires, ETC.
-Headman headers( not on motor yet)
-Edlebrock 4 barrel
-Mopar Performance Air cleaner and valve covers

The 727 transmission was completly gone through and has a shift kit in it.

I dont have the CAM specs or anything like that as the major overhaul was done before i got the car, all i did was just repaint the block and put all the new parts on it. Anyone want to take a wild guess on Horsepower........I'm thinking around 425????

Definitely going to need a little bit more info on the motor such as the specific intake, size of headers, etc. That being said, I would think about 400-425hp at the crank. I don't know if your going to have it dynoed but don't be disappointed if it doesn't reach a certain number. People always get too wrapped up in the numbers and not in how good it runs/drives. Good luck with the rest of the car!

MoparMotel, what Alt are you running? That no the right bracket for a 69.

I second about the guess on the HP. Most people just get to caught on that subject. If we all had the ture HP number' are cars make there be a lot of unhappy people here.

Ghoste

Dyno estimates are right up there with 1/4 mile et's aren't they Ken?  Everyone knows their car does 12 flat until they get it on the strip.

cudaken

Yep Ghoste, pretty much the same things. Car mag's kinda of started it. You read about 11's car all the time so you start thinking well I got that, that and this so I must be running 12's! ;D Hech, a 14's car is pretty darn quick on the streets and will beat 90% of what is running around.

Want to see some look's of dissapoiment? At a car show where they got a drive on Dyno watch the look's of the 500 HP (Bragging HP) faces fall when they see they have 240 Rear Wheel HP. ;D
