lol Original Fenders?

My brother just got his first car(a 1979 Dodge Aspen R/T) and he keeps going on and on about fixing his far from perfect(very screwed up-the hood has been hitting the driver side fener and the passenger side has had the door bend it in right at the edge. lol He doesn't understand why I laugh at him when he says it's got the original fenders and hood especially since it doesn't have the number matching 360 or any motor for that matter lol. anyone else have relatives that make a big deal out of parts that don't matter in the least?

Well, he's kinda got a point. At least you know it's never been wrecked or hit hard if it's still got the original front clip. And chances are it hasn't been apart before. Excluding the drivetrain of course.

Instead of laughing at him, why don't you try to help him out?  The guy obviously has an interest.  Give him some guidance.

Aspen R/Ts are cool cars and really, lack of the numbers engine is not going to make a difference in value and parts for aspens are cheap.

  That's pride in ownership right there! Even if it is a pos, at least he's showing interest & it just may keep him out of gangs-n-bad stuff. Who knows, maybe it will eventually make him into someone who can do killer restorations?

Those aspen r/t's and Super Coupe's are the best looking mopars to come out after 1974. I would rather have one of them than an A-body.

my sister is into some intresting cars... VWs and what not. but she also has a duster.. and i give her crap all the time.. thats what family is for, but i also try and help her. your brother sounds like he could have a nice car if you guys double teamed it. and hey its a Mopar! not a VW be proud!

lol no worries I do help him with it I just bug him about it. he wants the car running by august. which is possible but he has to keep his grades up and find a way to fund the project.

lol btw the only reason why I fell it nessecary to bug hi about it is becausehis car has pushed the start date for restoring my 68 Dart back ...    again    grrr. lol thats why i'm going to help him get this car done as quick as possible then he pretty much has to help me with the resto lol.

You can drop a built 360 in them or even a 440 if you wanna do the work, and they are great looking cars. All they really are, are restyled Dusters/Darts.
