What's the point?  Am I the only Mopar guy that isn't going to go to any more of them.  I went to one with 3000 cars (supposedly) and this is the only picture I took.  Maybe I'm just jaded...

Sounds as disappointing as Spring Carlisle.

The last few local shows have had some decent mopars, I have had the onle 2nd gen there and the last one had a 71 Charger Super bee.  I'ts kinda nice to be the only one with a Charger.

Can't say i blame you.  I have been to several all makes car shows and did Ok for myslef with my 66 charger however the shows were rather smalll.
the biggest show i went to had 118 cars and i got 2nd in the mopar class, the smallest show we went to had 13 cars and we got 3rd in muscle car  only cause there were only 3 cars in the class and the big trophies went to a kit shelby  cobra and a camaro.
I was kind of tickled with the only 1st place  i received in a mopar class against 15 other mopars and that show had 85 cars total.
I found out later that , this particular show had been kind of rigged by a car club of tuner cars.   they had 28 cars in the show and 1 person went  around and pick a car in each class then all their forms were filled out identically.

I'm still happy i got the 1st place but i sure would have felt better about it if i had truly gotten all 28 of those votes honestly  i had 45 out of 85 which was a nice margin but was it real?

It's more enjoyable if you forget about the trophy crap and hang out,  learn something about other makes and take it easy.... you can meet some new people and gain a few friends.

OK, sure - hanging with other Mopar people is great.    But you're gonna be outnumbered most of the time.

Until two years ago I primarily went to all makes car shows. There are several reasons but the main one is that I'm a "car guy" and I like a bit of everything - I just happen to own mostly Mopars. However, there just aren't enough Mopar car shows to keep me occupied but I go to as many as I can (mainly hunting for parts). I go to cruises every week and they are more fun for me because the atmosphere is more relaxed and I don't have to deal with the trophy collectors whining about how unfair the judges are. I really enjoy being a spectator more than a participant at shows. However, I have always been aware of the low numbers of Mopars seen in public and I wanted to make sure that everyone has a chance to see some.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

There is a local cruise close my home and there is NEVER mopar's there..although there is one old timer there with a blown 57 chevy that is really neat.
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Although I've never shown a car I think it's good to sometimes attend an 'all makes' show with a Mopar because it's good to represent among the 'sea of a thousand' Fords and GMs. My wife worked a weekly car show for a summer and she was always shocked to see a Charger roll in among the hundreds of Mustangs and Camaros. If we never take our Mopars to those shows how would the younger generation ever see the really good muscle cars? :D

I've had a few other nice cars before the Charger and I appreciate the work lots of these people put into their cars. (years and years worth) There are mostly A-Bodys and very few 2nd Gen. B- Bodys around my area and not too many Chargers. Most of the Chargers around here are all pretty much appear stock untill you look under the hood. It's about 50/50 correct to modified. Beside looking over some of the cars, it's fun watching people at the local shows too.

The only thing that I don't like are the car professors... (they can go jump in their rusty 4 dr Taurus and go home)

CharlieCharger

I was at a meeting the other day and was told that he remembers a motorhome that came STOCK with a 426 Hemi..I swear I was told this. He was a sworn car professor  :icon_smile_big:

Me too, but every once in a while I have to wonder about the logic in dumping gobs of time and money into certain types of vehicles, or the way in which certain desirable vehicles are restored. See what I mean:

I went to one last year with my truck(1998 SST) and I got this cold shoulder from everyone because my trucks not perfect and it's newer. i got sick of it and left early. the car show was full of chevys and fordthat where far from perfect and far from rare(64 1/2 mustang with a 427 cobra jet crate) but it was  pretty stupid car show.
