Here in the south back in the eighties, it seems like every other week there would be a tent revival at one of the many churches and they would usually advertise them in the newspaper.

My friends and I would go to these revivals go to these revivals at least once a couple of months to pick up girls.  It worked perfectly because, as punk rockers, we were edgy enough for the girls to feel like they were being rebellious, but since were were at the revival, their parents felt that were were "good buys."

I think it was a reference to the jim Jones cult that drank all the poison kool aid, so they could go to heaven, back in the late eighties early 90s.  My wife thinks I'm crazy for getting old cars
