Recently I herniated a disc in my back. I am feeling much better now but slow to start doing some of the things I used to do. My friend came to my house today to run my rototiller for me so I could get my garden going this year. His 17 yr old son who was grounded got to attend the boring afternoon. I offered the young lad 10$ to mow my yard for me as I was busy and didnt really want to push my luck with my back. He didnt want to do it and they finally left after the garden was done. I eat supper and decide I am up to mowing the yard so I fire up the mower and head out front. I start to mow the parking and suddenly stop in the 8 inch tall grass and right in front of my mower about to be mulched is a white 30gig video Ipod from Apple!!!!!!!!! SCORE!!!!!!!  In a small pink carrying case and not to far from it was th head phones. I live in front of a school and it must have fell out of a bag or come off a belt as someone was getting into the car!!!!!! Was hoping to find some private porn on it but no such luck!

Todd,
Sorry about your back.

If you live near a school, you are probably right on the money that a student dropped it out of his or her napsack(i'm guessing her due to the color)

I would poke around on the IPOD and find some things that only the owner would know were on there, then post a found sign at the school and when the kids come up, make them identify it by answering your numerous questions.

Some student is very sad that this is lost, and although I don't know the age ranges of the students, it's most likely an expensive xmas present from Mom and Dad.
You would most definitely be a hero.   Who knows maybe that child will mow your lawn for you as a reward. :icon_smile_big:

If you see a kid walking all slow walking back and forth on the sidewalk looking pissed, you`ll know who's it is  ;D :yesnod:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Now how on earth did you come to the conclusion that the kid deserves it? You stupid stupid... loads of kids pay for these iPods a lot of money and I also know a lot of kids that worked hard to earn them. Sure there is a percentage that gets them but it are most definitly not most. I know I worked for mine.

So as soon as someone has something nice they are a spoiled rich kid? Why is that? Is it jealousy? I have a lot of nice things but I like nice things and save for it to be able to buy it. I am probably what you would call a spoiled rich kid. Yes I do borrow some money from dad every once in a while, but I have always paid him back. Next to school I work and that's how I earn my money. So next time you see a kid walking around a high school or college with a nice iPod, or whatever think twice. Because it's assumptions like you made above that really set me off, because I know it could be me you are talking about... :brickwall:

Well, I'll tell you my reasoning for my comment.  My wife and I work 2 jobs to pay the bills and her son who is 20 lives at home works a part time job would rather spend his money on booze and I PODS and not help with bills around the house.  So if todd found an I Pod good for him I would keep it.

My son is 11 and saved up his birthday money, money from doing chores and Christmas money to buy an iPod we are not rich and I told him if he wanted one he would have to buy it himself, he did the old fashioned way hard work and saving.

You don't know if that kid who lost it was a "Spoiled rich kid" it may have been some kid who saved their money for months and months to be able to afford to buy one.

I would not make that assumption.

I could make a political comment about the taxing the rich liberal mind set but I will refrain

Sounds like that boy needs to move out. :yesnod:

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Havent been able to find the owner so I am keeping the Ipod. Who knows how long it was out there. I would think anyone who spent that kind of money on a device would keep it safe. It appeared like it may have been a high school kids Ipod. I found some homework files that looked like class's a high skooler would be in. The Ipod was set up as a USB drive and must have been used to move files as well as play tunes.  No form of identity on it or in it.  The world has taken things from me over the years and I guess now its paying me back a little bit!

Just because a parent is generous and buys their child an Ipod does not make them a spoiled rich kid!! Sounds like the envy bug has bitten you! LOL

And as far as the Ipod, I would try to locate the owner Todd. Give it a week or so, then claim it as your own. My son lost his Ipod and his military ID card on base and we searched all over, and thankfully we found the ipod but not the ID card. He was devasted when he found out he lost his music!! Me too, since I bought the thing for xmas!
