Well, my son called me today and said that he had bad news for me.

While putting a small compressor back on a shelf in the garage, the handle broke and the compressor fell and hit my Charger.

There are two big chips that go all the way down to the metal.

Can these be repaired by an amatuer.....me......or do I have to take it to a paint shop?

Do any of you guys know any central Ohio guys that will do a good job?

Picture is blurry but my eyes were tearing up at the time  :'(

Damage is at the top/front of driver's side front qtr panel just above the headlights (at the downward curve toward the bumper).

Body shop. No question. They will give you ideas of cost and effort of the repair. You might have to figure in the cost of bail and attorney costs.
If it ain't wide open; it ain't running.        Rule number one in motocross racing: Pin it; row the gear box; and wait until you hit something.     At work my motto is: If you need me, call someone else.

I'm in southeast Ohio and may be able to recommend a place or two. That doesn't really look bad at all but I'd personally have a shop check it out. It's very hard to dent that section so you may only need the paint touched up.

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

I agree on a body shop repairing it, It should be able to be repaired for a respectable amount...

second. I would say you've got a brave kid, Mine know to leave the state if they scratch my Charger ;)

Well if the handle broke on the compressor, the poor kid couldn't do anything about it.  No reason to take it out on him.

Thanks for the input. I will have to start looking for a shop.

I was really pissed off but you have to give my son credit for owning up to it. I wanted to lay into him but the paint can be repaired
much easier than a damaged relationship.
