I noticed i had a some leaf springs on a 74 318 car and i noticed it had fewer leafs plates then the 73 318 car i have .my question is how many leafs do i need if im putting a 440 in my car ,how many leafs do they come with when they are factory 440 car, is there a part#

since 73, not sure if also 72s, all BB or SB ( and /6 ) used same springs: just R/Ts states HEAVY DUTY suspension, so being last R/Ts on 71, take your conclusions.

More leafs springs setups where only on station wagons ( 6 ).

How many leafs do you need with a 440 ?... How many do you want ?. How much torque on your engine ?. I think R/T where 6 on passenger side and 7 on driver side... doesn't guys ?. 73 and laters are all 5 leafs stock as far I know, so you can match the R/Ts setup

Mine has them as well, not sure if it was just a common thing to have to holes there.  Kick myself in the butte for not keeping the one I got for free years ago...

Yeah, I think that's what he meant and what I meant.  I thought that maybe they were on all cars but didn't want to stick my foot in mouth....

Ok I have not prooved that LOL, but if you think is insane Assembly plant making another part just to cars without sway bars or without any extra option ... specially if you could install any accesory bought at dealer or parts dealer after you get the car.

With tranny exception, because the different tranny hump, rest of car is the same on all models. Remember you can buy at parts dealer to add any extra equipment along the years.

Only proove I have is my car wasn't originally with rear sway bar and I installed it cleaning the frame rails from grease and dust to find the holes.

Editing... My car also has the hole to clutch wire assembly because it does have the body plastic plug at firewall... and is auto 727
