The swap area at Monster Mopar was less than half the size as last year and the manufactures Midway was smaller as Laysons did not make the trip nor did Manuals on CD rom.  Maybe it was due to gas prices but if sales keep up like this year it won't be long before ther is no swap area.  Swap space prices went up as well ???

I thought it was alot bigger compared to a few years ago that I went.  I did get a tail light lens for $5.00.  It "only" cost $300.00 in gas for the Ford Excursion round trip from Detroit.

I thought the swap meet got a lot smaller, but the show cars and race cars were in high numbers, atleast thats what I thought

This was one of the 1st shows I have attended in a long time where I wasn't looking for parts for the '69.

Probably should have made couple rounds, any deals I missed out on?

Troy did mention he bought front fenders and a hood(?) for the '69 Charger he doesn't have.  ;)

Yeah, but they weren't in the swap - it was just convenient to meet there. :D

Sarcasm detector, that's a real good invention.

The swap meet at Commerce GA show was real lame too.  the swap meets at the last 3 shows i have been to have been very poor. very little as far as any 3rd gen parts that would interest me. what little is there is overpriced. a fella can do a lot better at home bidding on ebay.
I see two valid reasons. vendors can easily sell their wares online without the hassle, time investment, and  expense of travel. current price of gas certainly doesnt help.   :Twocents:

In the past it has been much cheeper to buy at the swap than on ebay, I guess we go in cycles.

I just got off the phone with the guy from R/t specialties, he said they had a real good weekend,  Maybe people are just looking for new repop stuff.  I know I dropped a couple bills with them ::)

IMO Ebay is the reason the swap meets are getting smaller.  The sellers can get much higher prices on Ebay usually.

from the prices at the swap meet, I would say the prices are about equal maybe enen higher in the car corral.  We had a guy in a nice cuda, nothing special just a nice resto that did not even have the door mirrors installed yet for sale for $37,500 and a 68 charger rolling chassy that was only good for a rebody for $3,500.  I don't think there was one salvagable part on the car. A convertible 71 Cuda 318 car needing complete resto 40k.
