Pulled the 69 Charger R/T SE out of storage after 4 years....

Well where I'm storing my 69 Charger R/T SE, the guy decided to clean the garage out of junk and such, so I had to move the car for the afternoon.  Thought you guys might like to see it out in "daylight".  Then back into storage for another decade!





















Don't mind the bear in the picture.





Back into storage she goes until I can get around to fixing her right.

nice! it must just kill you inside not being able to drive it. what do you have to do to fix it right?

The entire engine bay is a mess, the wiring is shot through and through, brakes need to be completely gone though, from the booster all the way to the back drums.  The car sat for almost 20 years without moving, I just cleaned her up a bit, got her running, had the interior the guy had sitting around installed.  Then put her away so I could concentrate on my 71 Challenger R/T.

When I finish this, the Charger is next.

Nice! And good work on the Challenger. But here is a thought.....these cars really are the most fun when you drive them.  And pretty soon you will be too old to drive it,... so you should enjoy it why you can.

I'm only 23... I still have a few good decades in me I hope.

Also being a college student, a budget really barely allows for one project, but two, is impossible right now.  I hope to get the old girl out in a year or two.

Thats a nice pair of rides you got there.   

A college budget does limit you thats for sure.  But it think i had more car money when i was in college than i do now being Married, Mortgage, 2 kids...

haha... that might be true.  I won't be getting to that point anytime soon.  So I hope to have both cars done by then.  And anyone who I marry needs to know that the cars aren't going anywhere!...

You know I've heard that alot lately...

It is actually a stripe delete car, but I thought the white stripe would really make the car look better.  I guess I was right.

Thanks again, I'll try and get her out this summer again, it is easier to get her out now then before and I'll snap a few pictures.

There is a bit more then just a brake job and a $600 harness that needs to be done, but that's a good start.  And on my budget, I won't be seeing that for a while with school bills and such.

Are there any noticeable problems that have occurred in the 4 years it's been in storage?

Not really, the brakes get some rust on them, but nothing too serious.

I put charcoal in open plastic boxes that absorbs moisture, every about 6 months I need to switch that, but it keeps the interior nice and clean.  Also put some Decon in there just incase, but hasn't been eaten at all yet.

Also I put some oil down each cylinder, I have race gas in there now, so it doesn't go bad really.

I put it on jack stands to keep it off the wheels.

I have a car cover I put on there too to top it off, keeps it nice and relatively clean.

It sounds like a simple question to me.  Selling the Charger would help get the Chally done sooner, and you can only drive one car at a time anyways.  Unless one will be for the gf and one will be for you Ryan.

Believe me, I'd almost consider selling my '68 for an R/T SE.

Power windows, power (disk!) brakes, air conditioning, cruise control...

Man... I'd love a Charger like that
