That was the original 1966 fixture from when the house was built. That chain was sticky and undustable. Sunday, I finally took it down and put up a new fixture. It was gross. I didn't think the people who sold me the house smoked, but maybe they had friends or family members who did when they visited because that chain reminded me of the gross film that was on things in my parents house.

Science is just observation and hypothesis.  Policy stands in the way.........

Or maybe it protects us.

I suppose it depends on the specific case.....

We had roughly 10" of snow last weekend at my place in the mountains. My buddy that lives just 15 minutes down the street, only got a 1/2".

Your not too far from snow area's.

alfaitalia

Not by US standards of distance I guess! I could go north to Scotland to snowboard (600 miles ish from me)..but you could not book too far in advance as the snow is not reliable...either loads or none at all. And it's usually cold and windy too. I prefer to head South about the same distance to the French Alps (about the same distance buy I usually fly...much faster and no Channel ferry cruising to sort).....90% reliable snow and blue sky conditions a lot of the time...especially in Feb & March. My two favorite haunts are Valdisere and Chamonix....both high resorts for good snow and a long season.
