Nice pics of both the moon and the raindrops on the flower. Obviously taken by someone who knows what they are doing and has nice DSLR equipment. I haven't bought a nice DSLR yet but one is definitely in my future. Here is a "point-and-shoot" camera shot of the Fairmont Kea Lani grounds and pools in Wilea, Maui, Hawaii. Not as good as most of the pics here but ...........

Alaskan_TA

Thanks, I do not have a DSLR camera yet either.  ;)

I am surprised that you do not use a DSLR for your moon shots.  I have and older Celestron C8 with a Minolta adapter on the eyepiece from back in the early '80's and took a few pics on film of the moon and various celestial object that turned out pretty good but, I just do not have any DSLR equipment.

Probably looking at Nikon for it but a good Canon sure is nice. My son has professional Canon equipment (5D I think) for his action sports shots of his sons baseball games and they turn out outstanding. I just favor Nikon myself. Nikon is no better nor no worse than Canon when you start looking at pro-grade equipment, just different.

Need to start looking soon as my Charger is finished now!  Ha!!

I use (for a little over two years now) a Canon SX30 IS

It has poor reviews compared to some, but it works for me.

I do miss the incredible macro of my old Sony Cybershot though.

Seems to work great for you!  Good photo skills are always important. You, obviously, have them.

Alaskan_TA

If the eye can see it, the camera can capture it with time & practice. For every shot that turns out, multiples turned out bad. Digital is a whole lot cheaper than film ever was though, so thankfully taking multiple shots to get one 'keeper' is a lot cheaper than it was decades ago.

I like this one better, there's a little more to it.

Tomorrow is promised to no one.......drive your Charger today.

The moon is waxing (heading towards full) so the more light it reflects, the easier it is for the camera to capture well.

I like this shot better myself, thanks Fred.

Nice pics of your trip to maui! My wife and I went there for our 30th anniversary and loved it. It does make you want to move there but, I couldn't afford it!

alright, now i have to go check that out too.  my kid went to Aus, NZ and Fiji with Student Ambassadors (or something like that) back around 2003, he thought Fiji and NZ were the best, Aus was just like Vegas he said.  His pics weren't as good as your though :drool5:
