One of those gas stations I know where it is!!! Good find man! :yesnod:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Cool link! I know of a few around here like those.

Sweet! While some are a bit off the beaten path, I can easily remember a lot of stations looking just like a lot of those. Thanks for the find.

this one is cool...

GreenMachine

Here's an old one that's been modernized along Route 66.
If it ain't broke, fix it 'till it is.

Cool pix! And I'm glad I didn't see any era-correct gas prices to raise my ire.

Here's a blast from Arco. Mopar based.

Some of those are just too funny! The teapot one? The office shaped like a Shell?

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

These are from the winged warriors meet a few years ago.  This was a blast!
When I was just a very young lad I looked up and told my dad, a bareback rider's what I wanna be.  I want the whole world to know about me.  In the rodeo arena I'll make my stand.  I wanna be a rodeo man.  I'll come flyin' from the chute with my spurs up high, chaps and boots reachin' for the sky.  Spurin' wild with my head throwed back, you'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.  You'll ask 'Who's that,' well that's Bareback Jack.

I have one here taken in 1940 of my dad filling the Radiator of his Univ. Of Alabama boxing team's jalopy.

I believe that Airplane Service Station was on Clinton Hwy, US25W, just outside of Knoxville, Tennessee.  If it isn't, there was one there just like it.

I like the cowboy hat and boot station....best of all was the .15 cents/gal sign!   That was cool to still see!

Here's one that I conjured up in MS Paint program. I'd like to renovate my garage into a replica of an old gas station.
Yeah, I know that sounds retarded.
I have lots of great memories from when I was a small boy, and used to hang out at gas stations, mostly to be around all the cool musclecars that invariably came in for refills.
The gas even SMELLED better back then too!!

Awesome.  And even though its an old thread, I like that idea of building a shop that has a retro fuel station look to it.
