I can't find any pics on the web, but just trying to narrow the search a little bit so someone else might be able to help.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

1972cuda

Ya that is confusing looking at it now. I am looking for pics of a b-body k-frame. My newest car is a 73 Charger with a 340. The rear mounting areas are GONE from rust. I am trying to determine which is better repair rusted out part or replace whole k-member.
Thanks.

Charger1973

A '73 small block k-frame should be easy to find.  I would not bother trying to repair it unless you cant find one.  Where are you from?  If youre within driving distance of Iowa I have one you could have, if you wanted to remove it.  I cant get any good pics right now though because the motors still in it.

any B K frame body from 73 to 78 will fit. They are the most produced and assemblied, specially on 4 doors sedans. If they are "easy" to find down here in Venezuela, pretty much up there.

Go to the bottom of this page.  It has some decent pictures from Firm feel suspension.

The first pic is from the link above, the Firm Feel website.  The second pic I just took of one of my 73s.  It was a big block car.  Is the Firm Feel pic a small block K frame?  The mounting ears look to be further back on my K frame.

Charger74

Matt, they look the same too me.  If I'm not mistaken, I don't think there were seperate small and big block k-frames after '73.  I think that was only pre-'73.  At least that has been my understanding, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.....

Charger1973

I always thought it was the other way around...   :scratchchin:

and in fact on 74 Mopar catalog there are 5 different PN for those, dunno if because supersedes number or why. They changed since certain date that I can't recall right now.

Is on earliers where no different K member between BB and SB

Ok, that is cool to know.  Guess I have been misfinformed.  So what is the difference in them for the different engines?  Is it just the motor mounts positioned differently?

Nacho-RT74

Not really sure since I'm, not really dealed with that, But I have known they not alignt correctly. It looks you can try to fit BB on SB K frames, and in fact does fits, but will have alignment issues.

I know members of board have installed BB on SB K member, but JUST ONE noticed the aligment issue, specially about tranny linkage. looks hard to fit. I'm not experieced, just read on board.

Ppl doesn't know that difference down here in Venezuela and make the BB to SB conversion since BB engine parts are becoming REALLY hard to find down here, so preffers mount a 318 to get a driveably car, not really "performance". They don't care about BB or SB on their Chargers. Of course I'm not talking about Muscle and Mopar fans, just common ppl what makes the BB to SB change. Don't know if they even noticed that aligment issue, or dealed and solved with another problem.

I have posted several times about all PN to all K members. Just would have to make a search on board. They list several PN to 73 models ( /6, SB and BB ) and after some date on same 73 year changed the PN to lates 73 and laters. I think was June 73. As stated, dunno why.
