I decided to try and put my window felt weatherstrips on tonight that I got like 3 months ago from Year One. Well they don't fit at all. The screw holes are so off. I kept thinking I was using the wrong side, but it's the same. The screw holes aren't even close to the original ones. I thought I would be able to use the old one as a template to punch new holes in, but since the way they're made the screw holes would be too low or two high, since it's not solid on one side. Plus I couldn't get anything to go through the felt and rubber combination. Has anyone else run into this problem? Everytime I try and do something to help me finish, it never works out. Where else can I get the weatherstrips? It is the kit for the 73 Charger too, I checked that out, the shape and length are right, but only the screw holes are so far off.

yes, I dealed with that... just opened the new holes.

I HATE THE FELTS YR1 SOLD... I feel I lost MY MONEY if you think international shipping too

I can make them BETTER down here and exactly to originals with the chromed lip. Just need to buy the 8" long strip, cut and fit. I just bought the set because the quarter ones are not that easy.

If somebody knows where to find a more accurate set I will buy. Quarter felts are starting to break.

I know several dealers, BUT ARE THEY THE SAME POS ?dunno

I havent bought these yet.  Good to know...  Maybe someone can start making accurate ones.  Do the 71-72 guys have the same trouble?

I had the same problem although it seems some of the holes lined up ok and I drilled out the rest.

I didn't think I would be able to drill out the holes because they are close to the right spot and if I drill them it might open them up too wide. I was getting exact measurements between each hole. Like 4 and 6 inches apart and I called Year One tech and he said he was measuring one which were a little more apart than mine. He told me to bring them back and bring my old one in to match to another set, but I guess if everyone here has had the same problem, they won't be any better. If I do have to end up drilling the holes, how can easily matchmark them with the old ones, since that one side of the seal will fold under, and it may move the holes your trying to drill up or down. Will the drill go through easy on the felt and rubber?

Nacho-RT74

go trought easy... in fact allmost dont need a drill. Selftapping screw opens EASILY by itself the hole. there is a metallic reinforcement on them but there are candy covers harder than that reinforcement LOL...

There is not a side of the seal that folds down anywhere... unlees I'm not getting what you are saying.
