what's the belt width should be used on our engines ?

Reason I'm asking is because unless dealer sold me wrong labeled belts, on Mopar catalog states My car uses 58" belts on Alt/compressor and I hardly could install 59"... maybe width was wrong ?

width is 3/8", length is dependent upon a/c, idler/ ps/ type of alternator

Everything stock... just alt upgraded but for a newer Mopar one with same pulley, specs and size.
