He was in a bad motorcycle accident last night and was airlifted to the hospital.

I hope he is doing ok.  I would love to have a motorcycle but they scare the crap out of me.  I have heard way too many stories like this.

That's terrible, I did my prayer. I hope he recovers. I could have got a deal on a Harley a while back but the ole lady said :rotz:

I agree, I hope he will be okay.

I LOVE Harleys, but after a few minor crashes when I was in my late teens, I no longer have the desire to ever ride again.

Was your friend wearing gear? Leathers & a lid?
Here's hoping for his full & speedy recovery. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Man, I saw a motorcyle/car accident when I was delivering auto parts back when I was 18 - in the late 80's ...since then I never wanted a bike.  People just don't see them, or they're just shitty drivers. Very sad story. Hope the injuries are not life threatening.   :'( :'( :'(

Speaking of lids, you gotta wear one. I can't understand why every state doesn't have a helmet law since they all have seatbelt laws. oh well, my  :Twocents: :Twocents: I hope he recovers.

Hi guys, thanks for your responses.  I just received an update.  He was wearing a helmet although it was crushed.  He broke his leg in several places, but nothing is life threating.  Someone pulled out in front of him and stated they never saw him coming.

RECHRGD

Glad he'll be OK.  Back in 1970 I had a corvette turn left in front of me and I hit him head-on a about 50mph.  Everything went to slow motion when I saw the car in front of me and I was able to push off the foot pegs right at the point of impact.  That saved my life, as I flew over the vette and only screwed up my knee upon landing.  Good thing it wasn't a pick-up truck.  My knee has been through some operations and will most likely have to be replaced one of these days.  I always loved bikes but I'm way too brittle now to even think of getting another one.   Bob

Wow a crushed helmet. GOOD DEAL - it is a godsend that he lived. Helmets save the melon. It's just too bad everyone doesn't wear them.

I too was in a motorcycle accident back in 1988.  Basically the same thing as Bob, accept I flew about 75 feet and was knocked unconscious.  I wasn't wearing a helmet and suffered a severe concussion and messed up both knees.  Lucky to be here.  I don't ride anymore either.  I need to be here for my kids.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?
