Here are the results of a bad accident a friend of ours was involved in when an idiot ran a red light.  It was a beautiful car before this happend.  Total loss - Right?  Wrong - after a year or so he managed to fix it and you cannot tell anything ever happened to it.  Another Mopar saved!  Hopefully the photos show up in this post.

:o Holy Crap!  Is there any way you can make those pics a little bigger and post them?  I would really like to see them better.  When did this happen?

Charger-Bodie

Yes bigger pics please.  That looks terrible, I cant imagine being able to save that..   Actually, I dont think I would want it after that, but I guess thats just me.  Looks like it was an amazing car before that...

moparguy01

thats not terrible, as long as the front rails can get straightened I'd fix it too. but I've done some real crappy cars lately...

19Charger68

I'm not sure I can enlarge them.  Will give it a try.  Here is a photo that was taken at one of our car shows just a week before the accident.  Believe me, the car looks just as good now.  He didn't send me any photos of the repairs being done but I know he went through hell to find parts - but he did it.  Yes, this is a beautiful car - always wins awards at the shows.  At the last car show we were in, I did not know that the car had been repaired.  Gave me goose bumps to see the car at the show after I saw these photos.

WOWZERZ :o How fast was that guy who ran the light going? I bet you wouldn't walk away  if that was a new Jap car :yesnod:
Earth. Even the word sounded strange to me now... unfamiliar. How long had I been gone? How long had I been back? Did it matter? I tried to find the rhythm of the world where I used to live. I followed the current. I was silent, attentive, I made a conscious effort to smile, nod, stand, and perform the millions of gestures that constitute life on earth. I studied these gestures until they became reflexes again. But I was haunted by the idea that I remembered her wrong -Solaris

Thats a hard hit for any bodyman to repair, but fixable as Russ stated, frame being ok to work with and inner structure can be replaced. Deffinately want to se more photos of repair time, glad to see it back up and running. Not to high jack the thread, but I'm doing the same thing right now to my Dart after it was stolen years ago. Soon to be black/ red tail and hood scoop stripe stroker 377.

Hey, you can hate the game but don't hate the player.

I sent an email to the owner and told him I had posted his photos.  Asked him to come to the site, join up, and answer any questions.  Hopefully he will do so.

even if the rails wouldnt straighten it could still be reaired by replacing the entine front structure inc the frame rails infact that would be the prefered way to do it in my opinion

Is this the same White 71 Charger R/T:  http://www.moparts.org/moparts/picture/members/four/steve.html

Looks to be twin, with the luggage rack and painted mirrors, but doesn't have the vinyl top?

I was thinking this car was also from New Mexico?

*Speed costs money son, how fast do you want to go, and for how long?"
*"Build the biggest engine you can afford the first time."
*"We normally wouldn't use a 383 for this build, parts and labor for a 440 cost the same."

Mopar Hound.  Yes, that is the car.  We are both from New Mexico.  I didn't know he had that site.  Anyway, it's a beautiful car.  He has had bad luck with it.  A couple of years ago he had a fire in the engine compartment and had to replace the hood I believe and most of the wiring, etc.  He keeps getting it back into great shape every time.

Very cool car, I like the luggage rack, don't see too many of them. The wreck looks pretty bad, but at least another Charger is saved. Must have been one hell of a job.

Man, that's a sad sight. I'm glad he was able to get it back together.
I'd like to see some repair pics too, I hope he joins up. :)

The Aquamax...yes, this bike spent 2 nights underwater one weekend. (Not my doing), but it gained the name, and has since become pseudo-famous. :)

Odds told me it was.

From the decription in the Moparts link, he's a real diehard that put a lot of heart and soul into that car, and now more than once from the pic's you posted.

:notworthy:  I'm not worthy, as mine sits broke down yet again.

wow! that's too bad i hate seeing stuff like that but im gad it was saved i would think twice about buying a car if i knew it hd been hit hard like that.

The70RT

WOW. I bet he was pissed. :RantExplode: Hopefully the idiot that ran the light had insurance. The last one I had like that the idot ran and had no insurance. It's a good thing my old ford truck took a beating and kept going because when I caught him a few blocks away I finished of his nova off and unfortunatly the rest of my truck. He got 10 tickets, I got one! :D

You are right about putting heart and soul into that car, he certainly has done that!  Yes, I think he was more than a little pissed after that happened.  He also did get somewhat injured but seems to be fine now.  Steve told me he is joining the site as soon as he can get confirmation back so hopefully he will sign on and correct all the things I've gotten wrong and answer any questions about the accident, repairs, etc.

I'm not either. I crashed mine in '93 & it's still not repaired. :-\
