After researching carbs in the search area it appears as though the "go to guys" ( Ron, Chrycho, etc.) really like the Holleys best. I'm ready to ditch my 2 year old pos Eddy and go with a Holley. I'm leaning towards the 4150 but, it doesn't come with a choke. Not sure if this is really an issue, since it's mostly driven in warm weather. I'm putting it on a 440 with a mild cam and eddy heads. I'm also thinking about chucking the performer manifold and going with an RPM performer. In one of Chrycho"s past posts he thinks the performer is junk. Any opinions ? Thanks.

I personally don't care for Holleys on the street, just my preference.

I am also interested in which way to go with the carb for my 440.  I was looking at either the Eddy AVS or the Holley 4150.  I would be interested in the pros and cons of these carbs.  My engine will be basically set up to be maybe a little more powerful than stock---but not too much.  Absolute tops of 6000 rpm.  Probably 5500 rpm in reality.  Just for crusing around as it were.

Be careful about hood clearance with the Eddy Performer RPM----leastways on the 68-70 charger (unless you use a drop base air cleaner).  O/W, it's supposed to be very good.  Other choices would possibly be the Weiand or the  no longer available Edelbrock CH4B (which can be found on EBAY or from some of the Used Parts dealers).

I use a lot of the new HP street series carbs From Holley as well as the Avenger series , they are all wet flowed & tune easily
The Eddy Performer RPM or Holley Street dom are far better choices then the performer which is worse than the stock iron intake

I had to use the Edelbrock AVS 800 cfm carb. With the Holley 850 double pumper dual feed I had, the dual feed line got in the way of my Distributor, Plus stock dual snorkel air cleaner wouldn't fit. I like to retain the original look but have a somewhat built motor. If your car is all chrome & candy then this may not matter to you? LEON.
