I'm going to take a pic later and let someone try to figure it out, I thought I had lost it after all these years,It does say that for wheel covers it has code w15, the one book I have says wire wheels, are these common? I dont think I have seen them, and does anyone have a pic of this option on a 69 charger?, I took some pics of her last night and will put some pics up when I get home from work,Curious about the wheels, thanks!

I think for later years ('70 or '71, I forget which) the W15 did call out wire wheel covers.  I'd have to check the little white book, but for '69 they definitely indicate the deep dish wheel covers like Chris posted a link to, especially since they didn't offer wire wheel covers that year.

Glad you found your B-cast sheet though!

bmoparmofo

Apparently the "restaroation guide" I purchased needs some work....lol, I didnt ever remember a 69 with factory wire wheels but the book left me scratching my head :scratchchin:, thanks for the replies, I will post some pics when I get home!

Thanks for posting the pictures - looks like you definitely have something to work with there!

Just for practice, let me take a stab at what your fender tag should read...

Have you been able to decode the rest of the B-cast sheet?  There are several guys on here who can decode almost everything on that sheet, so if you're curious just ask.

bmoparmofo

Unfortunately the fender tag is missing :icon_smile_blackeye:, I am trying to figure it out and really try to get some progress done this year, thanks for the reply and I hope to hear more.

Life isn't Father Knows Best anymore, it's a kick in the face on a saturday night with a steel toed grip kodiak work boot and a trip to the hospital all bloodied and bashed.....for reconstructive surgery. But, what doesn't kill us, makes us stronger, right?

Just 6T9 CHGR

Just to clarify some of Mikes decoding...

B51 does not stand for power disc brakes.  it only is a designation for power assist brakes.  B41 would be the code for discs followed by B51.
B51 alone would indicate power drum brakes

the T5 color name for 69 would be Copper Metallic

Other than that Mike hit it on the head!

Ok, I'll try and 'cipher the B-cast sheet as best I can.  Might have a few that I don't have the info for or have messed up, so feel free to straighten me out...  The codes typed on your sheet are in bold, but on some of these I added the code prefix for clarity's sake.

Line 1
2 - Second assembly line at the assembly plant
020330 - an internal sequence number, which I personally believe indicated the order that the Broadcast Sheets came out of the printer and therefore indicates the approximate order that the cars went down the assembly line.  No correlation to anything else though unless you're comparing another car's B-cast sheet from the same plant from around that time.
930 - Scheduled Production Date of September 30th, 1968
062088 - The Special Order number, which should correlate to the actual order form that your car's selling dealer wrote the order on.  These were pre-numbered and issued by the Regional Sales Office to the dealerships.
XP29G9B - already mentioned

You'll also note that there are no boxes checked under the "Y" - Vehicle Deliver and Handling boxes, which there often is.  Hard to say if the car was special-ordered for a customer as a pre-sold car, or if it was just a sales bank car.

Line 2
E61 - 383 2bbl rated at 290hp
D32 - A727 3-speed auto transmission
D51 - 8-3/4" rear axle with 2.76 gears.  The absence of anything in the following box means that it was not a SureGrip rear axle.
T32 - 7.75x14" White stripe tires
C6X - Charger trim grade interior - Black Vinyl
X9 -  Black upper door frame paint color
V01 - Monotone paint
T5 - Copper Metallic Roof color - however this first code was not stamped on a Hamtramck fender tag when a Vinyl Roof was added.
T5 - Copper Metallic Body Color
V1X - Black vinyl roof

Line 3
43 - Indicated a steering column for a power steering car - I'm fairly sure about this code
X9 - Color of the seering column
11 - Steering column for a console-shifted car - I THINK
12 - Partial horn ring 3-spoke (standard) steering wheel & horn pad
X9 - Black steering wheel color
55 - 2949055 26" 2-core radiator, upgraded from 22" because of the A/C
0 - Don't know about this number
57 - 2863257 Upper Radiator Hose part number
45 - 2863245 Lower Radiator Hose part number
16 - 2863216 7-blade 18-1/2" cooling fan
56 - 2658456 Thermally-operated clutch fan unit
20 - 59 amp-hr. Battery - I'm fairly sure on this one
38 - Vacuum fitting @ rear manifold (two port, more than likely)
885 - Engine Assembly Code - 383-2bbl, A/C, auto trans, 290hp, turquoise paint
75 - 4614S Carter 2bbl carburetor, part number 2946575
46 - 2863846 choke for 383-2bbl carbs
090 - Transmission Assembly Code - for 383-2bbl cars - p/n 2892090
27 - Speedometer Pinion, 27tooth for 7.75x14 tires & 2.76 gears - p/n 2538927

Line 4
635 - driveshaft p/n 2883635: 52.03" long, 2-3/4" dia, 7260 U-joints
579 - assembly number for the rear axle - 8-3/4" gear dia., 2.76 gears, 10x2-1/2" brake drums
16 - 14" x 5.5" stamped steel wheels
X9 - wheels painted black
79 - W15 deep dish wheel covers p/n 2881779
15 - Assembly number for the B-body frame
85 - B-body sway bar - p/n 2462885
779 - .090" Left torsion bar  - HD Rallye suspension
778 - 0.90" Right torsion bar - HD Rallye suspension
212 - 58" Left side spring package w/ 4-1/2" leafs
212 - 58" Right side spring package w/ 4-1/2" leafs
67 - Standard-duty front shock absorbers stamped with 2462067
93 - Standard-duty rear shock absorbers stamped with 2834893
22 - Not sure exactly, probably means 10x2-1/2 power drum brakes
43 - Not sure exactly, probably a factory code for the auto brake pedal assembly
7 - I don't know what this one infers

Line 5
41 - 2899841 - emissions decal
78 - 3400478 - tire pressure decal

Line 6
B51 - Power assist drum brakes
C16 - Console shift
C23 - Rear arm rests w/ ashtray - standard
C55 - Bucket Seats - standard
C93 - Carpeting - standard

Line 7
F11 - 46amp Alternator (std. with A/C)
F23 - Series 24 Battery with yellow caps - 59 amp-hr.
G11 - Tinted glass, all windows (recommended with A/C)
G33 - Left-hand mirror - remote operated
H51 - Air Conditioning

Line 8
J11 - Glove box lock - standard
J15 - Cigarette lighter - standard
J21 - Clock - standard, unless equipped with Tach
J31 - Dual Horns - standard
L31 - Hood-mounted turn signals

Line 9
M21 - Drip rail mouldings - standard
M26 - Wheel lip mouldings - standard
M31 - Body belt mouldings - standard
M85 - Bumper guards - standard

Line 10
R11 - 2-watt Solid State AM radio
S13 - HD Rallye suspension - I'm really sure this should be there
S2? - I don't think there was a code here, but maybe so
S77 - Power Steering - I am convinced this would be there
S79 - 3-spoke partial horn ring with padded center
W15 - Deep dish wheel covers
W25 - Stamped steel wheels

That's about all I can help out with.

mikepmcs

Holy, crap, now that is a decoding for you right there.  Nice work Geno!!!!!!! :notworthy:

Interestingly, my Dart sheets are all 1s and the Barracudas and Chargers are 2. The assembly Line 1 or Line 2 may hold true for Hamtramck plant but you will find other numbers or even letters in this place at other plants. I do not believe there is a correlation between the next group of numbers and the actual build sequence number. You can find many instances where the first number is considerably lower than the VIN or SPD. I do think whatever the number indicated was reset during the production year as late model year builds can have a low number. It 'counted something' but I do not think it was the actual printing of the BS

Line 3
0 - Don't know about this numberI have one source that indicates this is the front yoke size. It lists 0 for 26 radiators, 1 for 19 or 22" radiators and 2 for Imperials but I don't think this is  exactly right as I have both 22" and 26" radiators with the same yoke code. More research required... :scope:

20 - 59 amp-hr. Battery - I'm fairly sure on this oneThat's what I have

22 - Not sure exactly, probably means 10x2-1/2 power drum brakesThis is the brake assembly code ie drum brakes, what size of brakes, disc brakes, etc

43 - Not sure exactly, probably a factory code for the auto brake pedal assemblyPedal assembly code ie clutch with standard brakes, auto with standard brakes, power brake, etc

7 - I don't know what this one infersSupposed to be the last digit of the PN for the pedal pad but I haven't confirmed it. Example...pad with pedal dress up or without

Line 10

S13 - HD Rallye suspension - I'm really sure this should be thereI agree...
S2? - I don't think there was a code here, but maybe so I think you'll find 25 here when the 32/92 firm ride shocks were used

I can add a part number to the list. -38- vacuum fitting is 1948838-3 way w/AC.
A list of all of them is in the parts book under 5-110-18.
As to S13 H.D. susp.w/sway bar.(non R/T).All 69 chargers are supposed to be built with it.
